*I paid £115 at the time as this was on ‘Limited time deal’.*
At the price paid I couldn’t be happier with the result. I was specifically after a monitor which had a flat back, was VESA cmpatible, had a low response time and had a wide viewing angle.
This is an IPS display with a very low response time and a wide viewing angle (178 degrees vertically AND horizontally).
The colours are great and if your not after the bleeding edge refresh rates like its more expensive brother (144Hz) then I would say get this monitor.
I ended up using this in an arcade cabinet as I wanted something which could be viewed at pretty much any angle with decent colour reproduction. This device does not dissapoint!

Originally I did not intend to buy this particular display but instead was looking to purchase the smaller 24” version. However the 24G2U/BK model seemed to be out of stock with just about every supplier I checked at the time (Amazon included) and, as I was keen to get my new-build PC up and running, decided on this model. It seemed to make sense given the excellent Amazon price at the time (with free Prime delivery), the largely favourable reviews and the fact that I was getting a larger screen for relatively little extra cost.
Well I’m happy to say that deciding on this display was one of the best purchasing decisions I have made for quite a while. Now anyone with any common sense would not expect a monitor that cost around the £200 mark to be on equal footing with a monitor costing £300 or more. HOWEVER I can assure you that this monitor punches well above it’s price point.
Firstly the overall build quality is excellent. The screen unit it’s self is of a robust & high quality…

I’m giving this an initial 5 stars just to reassure you that this monitor is as expected – 27″ flat screen with both a UK plug and European one. Also comes with a HDMI lead and a DP lead.
At the moment I have a fairly old GTX 960 PC. In the next couple of weeks I’ll be building a GTX 1660ti rig that will be a completely different beast. That will really allow me to push this monitor.
However, initial impressions – it looks like it costs twice as much as it does, screen is lovely and bright, and it does have some very basic speakers.
If you have any questions, ping me a comment.

Edit: If this is going to be your only monitor, and you can get it for less than £250, then go for it, otherwise, don’t bother. The VA smearing effect is dreadful, I went and purchased an IPS to have alongside this, and the difference is insane. After using my IPS monitor for playing games now, this AOC VA Monitor is just a waste, total waste of money. I now realise why VA panels get a bad name. Games look murky and muddy compared to an IPS. There is a few IPS panel monitors out there you can get for cheaper, get one of those instead.
When your viewing still images, then fine, but reading text while scrolling, or moving images and gameplay is just awful.
I managed to snag an Amazon Warehouse “Used – Like New” on this, snapped it up straight away and eagerly awaited my order. It was delivered 2 days later so I took the through to my man cave, made myself a brew then proceeded to open the box, only to realise that I had also fallen victim to this whole mix-up between the flat and…
