Pros:
– Supports sRGB and P3 colour gamut. Colours are bright and well saturated.
– 4K in 27inch means the image and text is much sharper. Though this applies to almost all 27 4K displays anyway.
– Monitor stand as in many Dell displays is well build and ergonomic. Easy to set height, rotate and swivel.
Cons:
– Build quality is absolutely terrible. Bottom edge of the frame was already stated tearing apart.
– OSD buttons below not easy to press at all. Because they were attached to the frame below that coming apart.
– Later discovered that the bottom right of the panel was sticking out about 1-2mm and not flushed to the frame as it normally should be.
– The colours in the area that panel sticks out were faded as well. Pressing the panel slightly inside brought back the colours. This is a brand new monitor. Unbelievable.
– With further inspection I found out the monitor not even sticked together well enough. You can feel certain vibrations when tapping back of the casing meaning there are…

Top line, after 1 week, the small plastic frame at the bottom has started to come away, or looks like it is, which is worse as it means rhe plastic is warping.
So disappointed as this is (like other Dell monitors) an excellent screen with great clarity and the USBC charging system is perfect for my MacBook Pro 16 inch, providing power and video over the single cable.
But the build quality is terrible. Everything creaks when you click the menu buttons and just doesnโt feel like a premium product, even though the insides and picture experience is a premium one. Even my portable ASUS Zenscreen monitors have a metal frame and feel much nicer to the touch.
After realising that a like for like spec alternative is either vastly more expensive or ugly, i decided to keep this one as Amazon offered a discount as an incentive to just keep (or bribed, however you want to see it). I can live with the wonky plastic i guess if it works perfectly, but if any further issues arise, Iโll be onto Dell…

Coming from U2515H which is 25 inch QHD to this 27 inch 4K, left me quite impressed. I had lower expectations, due to the reviews and as I’m coming from 1440p, not 1080p. However, Dell haven’t let me down when it comes to monitors or laptops for 10 years+ so took the risk. The panel was manufactured in April 2020, so maybe they improved QA as I haven’t noticed any of the mentioned backlight bleed or other issues by other reviewers. Maybe I was lucky with the panel. The picture did look a bit muddy originally, but realized that I was outputting by default only 8bit and had to go to my nVidia settings panel to have it output 10 bit and that was it. I’m a software developer, so for rendering text is absolutely brilliant. Watched a few Amazon and Netflix 4K movies, nothing to complain about. Overall very happy.
