At last a printer that actually works when you need it. Sick of my last printer always asking for new ink which was costing a fortune. With this printer, the quality is great and when new ink is needed HP sends it to me ahead of time. I’ve subscribed to 100 prints a month for £3.50 which is reasonable, plus unused pages roll over. If you would like a free month of printing use this referral code: mpLsp

Great little printer so far. Nice modern look, and I love the fact the paper is housed under the printer instead of out the top. Very easy to install using my iPhone and easy to set up the instant ink subscription. Very happy with it so far!

Huge problems with WIFI and only works on a lead, also, you can’t opt out of the “free” ink deal. I’ll stick to Cannon in future

I very much appreciate how easy this printer is to set up use. The whole experience is very well thought out, making using all of its functions simple and intuitive. I had this set and printing on my network from my Mac and iPhone within half an hour of removing it from the box. Printing documents and photographs on different media is easy, using the touch display to change settings. Scanning works well with the downloaded app. Setting up an instant ink account was also painless, and will prove very cost effective for me as a light user.
The only downside I can see is print quality, which is not great, even for a budget machine. However, it is acceptable for my needs.

Absolute rubbish. Always glitching. refusing to print/scan.Have to keep reloading print software as it wont respond. Forget about back up from HP you never hear from them. Extremely frustrating. tried on a number of computers to make sure it was the printer. Still the same. Its heading for teh bin and i’ll write off the cost to experience

Fed up with Epson inkjet printers! So I bought this to replace my last Epson printer.
Sets up easy to our phones and tablets but my laptop took a little longer as I went for the full software install. I removed this software when it failed and followed the (recommended) windows 10 App route. The app worked straightaway.
The printer configuration is great – you print a special sheet off and then scan it back in allowing the printer to work out what it needs to do.
I have signed for the £1.99 a month print cartridge scheme and let the printer order the replacements for me – seems good to me.
Finally, the best bit – the paper is stored in a shelf INSIDE the printer! And it automatically does double sided printing although I haven’t tried that yet.
Addendum – several weeks later
Okay I have really needed this printer the past few weeks and would have struggled without it. The double sided print is effortless and the quality is great.

The printer constantly fails to connect to the internet via my router which is just 3 meters away and providing a very strong signal. Every other time I want to print, I have to run the diagnostics program to fix the problem. Now that I have replaced an ink cartridge via the Instant Ink service, the printer refuses to print at all. I have tried contacting HP support. No answer on the phone. I have tried online support materials which just refer me to use the diagnostics program. I am going to have to return it to Amazon as faulty. Then I will have to cancel the Instant Ink thing. Then I’ll have to buy a different printer and set that up. Oh and delete all the HP software. A right pain! Not happy. Shame you don’t answer the phone, HP.

Having owned a HP LaserJet 1200 and HP Office Jet All In One for 18 years I had high expectations of HP as a brand. Unfortunately the HP Envy 5030 has a catalogue of errors.
1> Unit arrived with only one rubber foot meaning it slid around on the desk.
2> Scan glass has something resembling a little shard of paper stuck on the underside meaning every scan has a black mark.
3> WiFi setup was far from the advertised easy more resembling a nightmare and never worked.
4> Tried setting up via usb but the only result was crashing my pc twice leading to the assumption that the usb port is faulty.
So can’t print, scan or even use solely as a copier due to the black mark.
Very disappointed.
