If, like me you did not receive any start-up print cartridges with your printer don’t think you can just install regular 303 cartridges and install. Virtual tech help was hopeless, getting nowhere. Calling customer services was good only when I insisted on getting help as I had not received the set-up cartridges. I was then advised on a very simple override step which should have been included with printer. as follows: install the regular 303 cartridges if you hopefully have them, Press home key (top left) and back key (bottom) – they are not lit up so difficult to find – and lift the whole top to expose under-tray and ink cartridges and close it again. Try several times if it doesn’t work first time. It will then over-ride the “install start-up cartridges” step and you can complete installation as you normally would. It may ask you to install update. Otherwise the printer works, well scans well, but I could have done without the hours of trying to contact HP support, wasting time…

I chose this one as it had better reviews than the other HP Printers, a good offer of 5 months of Instant Ink, and it came in White! Even though I could have bought other models for less, it still wasn’t expensive and would do everything I needed. It’s reasonably quick, produces quality copies, and has wireless connection so I could move it off my desk if I chose. I was a little concerned that it might be difficult to set up after reading one review, but it couldn’t have been simpler. I chose HP as I have a HP X360 laptop and have used HP Printers which have served me well for many years. I paid a very good price of ยฃ84.99 plus I added 2 Years breakdown and accidental damage for just ยฃ11.50. There are many prices quoted for this on Amazon so make sure you pick the best one. So far I’m very pleased.

This has to be an interim review, because I’ve hardly used the printer since it was installed two weeks ago. Since then I’ve been through a series of immensely irritating holdups. The first prints were too red, so I attempted an on-line chat with an GP tech support person to find out if it possible to adjust the colour balance. This is how the “support” chat went:

Tech person: “Hi, I’m Rocky. How are you doing?”
Me: Fine thanks, how are you?
Tech person: “How can I help you today?”
    Me (brief description of problem)
Then a message appeared on the screen: “Rocky has closed the chat”.

So I put that one aside, and a day or two later tried to make a few prints. This time the printer wouldn’t print. A dozen or so attempts later, a message appeared on my Mac screen:”Printer is not connected”. A phone call to the helpful (real) tech expert who did the installation resulted in his re-installing the printer via Team Viewer. Success: the printer made a print.

    Meanwhile (I can’t recall the exact…

I bought this all-in-one printer in May 2020, and use it for my home office.
Although the initial set up was fine, and it printed quite quickly, it did feel quite flimsy.
Besides, the paper tray was very hard to shut (I had to slam it very hard in order to be able to shut it).
On top of that, around 6 months I purchased it, it started to refuse printing pictures, as the picture tray would not ‘engage’.
Very disappointingly, when Amazon contacted their ‘third party seller’, WorldTech UK, they said that direct exchange or refund was not accepted 30 days after the purchase date (which I have never heard before!), and that all their products come with a minimum 1-year Manufacturer Warranty.
They told me to contact the manufacturer (HP) for replacement or repair process, which I thought contradicted the fact the product was still covered by the one year warranty, as I purchased it less than a year ago.
When I asked for a full refund, WorldTech then changed their tune, saying that, ‘as the…

My old Epson finally died and I bought this one.

Printing photo’s is actually amazing, so true to the original.

The instant ink plan is a must. Who cares about ink now. I can for ยฃ1.99 a month print 50 A4 colour photos for nothing. Ink runs out, no issue , the printer if online will contact HP and they auto send more ink before you run out and its tracked delivery. 50 A4 colour photos a month.

It’s the photo printing where this stands out though, just amazing and fast.
