Haven’t used my previous Chromebook to destruction over the last 3 years wanted a new and equivalent machine. The market didn’t look quite so varied at the moment. Screens tend to be bigger and prices higher. I suspect this reflects the greater extent of WAH during Covid-19.
This is a good machine however. Feels very sturdy with a fair bit of metalwork used in the body. The keys are nice & positive. Touchscreen good after initial feel of drag which wears off & decent touchpad. The screen is good enough for individual use. Some reviews criticise that. I’d recommend this purchase.

After being a Linux/Mac/Windows user for many years, this was my first experience of a chromebook and I must say that I’ve been impressed.
I originally bought it months ago for use by the kids with doing their homework but it has proven it’s worth admirably during lockdown. Obviously for this price point we’re not dealing with something that will play the latest games or be used for anything else taxing but for every day use like browsing, school work, video calls and so on I can’t fault it. And even though it isn’t built from premium materials it still feels reassuringly solid in the hand without being heavy. Having a touchscreen AND the ability to flip to tablet mode is a great bonus too.
Any criticisms I have of it are more targeted at ChromeOS itself rather than the laptop – the ChromeOS ecosystem still lags behind iPadOS in terms of support for touchscreen but for the large part it works fine.
All in all, a great value laptop

I bought this for homeschooling and it was so easy to set up. My son uses it and he loves it. Highly recommend this. Set up all the tools and now he can confidently get his work done.

an excellent machine . Does exactly what is says on the tin. Lenovo have made a lovely Chromebook which has the look , feel and performance of a much more expensive laptop.
