I’m very pleased with this keyboard and mouse and don’t regret parting with ยฃ150, but I wondered why it is called the MX900 when the keyboard is in fact a K800.
I may be naive, but when doing my online research and finally settling on the MX900 I assumed that something titled 900 would be something different, if not better, than an 800.
However when I turned the keyboard over I see that it is marked K800, which is available with English keyboard at ยฃ84.99. The MX Master mouse (which makes up the other half of the MX900 combo) is currently available from Amazon at ยฃ44.99).
So bought separately you save ยฃ20.
Apart from the fact that I might have saved ยฃ20, why doesn’t the product description tell you that you are buying a K800 sold as an MX900?

The mouse is a thing of beauty. It is really very good indeed.
The keyboard, on the other hand, is pretty poor.
In fact, I had to send the lot back because the keyboard would not charge properly (even after 12 hours it was still showing 2 out of 3 bars). Then it was flat within a day.
The replacement is a bit better. At least it will charge up fully. But 2-3 days and it’s almost flat again. Okay, I use it 10-12 hours a day and I have it lit-up, but still I don’t think that is very good.
Also, when you hit the “Mail” key, it just opens “new mail”. I don’t want that, I want Outlook to open fully and I can’t see any way to change it. So I’ve had to assign F1 (“Home” key) to Outlook.exe. And even that sometimes does not work and opens my browser. A second press will open Outlook.
So, to conclude, great mouse, crap keyboard.

I wanted a mouse and keyboard to work with my media centre, so it needed to work at 3 meters distance. It does that!! The mouse works and on a terrible table that I’ve had trouble getting other mice/mouses (is it mice for the device as well as the animal?) to work on before. My only qualm is the insane price, but as another reviewer said they are the single most used parts of your computer setup therefore you should be willing to pay for the best and this mouse/keyboard combo are the best I’ve worked with in my 20 year development career.

I decided I wanted to get a great wireless keyboard with illuminating keys, money no object (well, up to a point) – no cutting corners, no dodgey Chinese pseudo-brands. This Logitech seemed to be the answer, to begin with. However, straightaway I found the wireless connection to be tempremental, and I had to use the USB port at the front of my PC to avoid lags and dropouts. That seemed to fix it, but now, just a couple of years later, the problems have returned and the keyboard has stopped working altogether. The mouse still works fine, but this means I am using a USB port just for that as well as for my wired keyboard backup. I also found the battery life for the keyboard rather limited, and the regular recharging irksome. Overall, this is a snazzy piece of kit which doesn’t do the basics, is temperamental and should be avoided at all costs.

I have bought this to upgrade my K800 Set as I’d had that 3 years and it’s starting to fade.
This set is fantastic, it feels like a much higher build quality than the older sets.
The functions are the same but it feels like it will last much longer.
Simple to set up, just remove any old Logitech software BEFORE up install this as it uses the new OPTIONS software and not Setpoint.
I’m very happy with it.

I have really struggled to buy a decent Logitech Wireless Keyboard and Mouse set to work from home on my work laptop with. Having just returned a Logitech MK710 Mouse and Keyboard kit because it was terrible build quality I decided to give the MX900 Premium a go instead. Unfortunately I don’t think this kit is particularly ‘Premium’ for the money either.
Neither device needed any drivers or pairing to get them both working with the supplied Unifying receiver. However to get the most out of these devices you do need to install the Logitech Options software which, ironically, is severely lacking in Options.
The MX900 comes with an MX Master mouse which is actually a lovely mouse to use and feels very well made. It’s a productivity mouse so isn’t going to be the best for gaming (mainly due to its lower DPI than your average gaming mouse) but for productivity tasks, development, Internet browsing etc. it’s a somewhat of a revelation. Another really neat feature is to be able to connect…

The keyboard is great when working, but one of the keys has started typing an ‘8’ instead of an equals sign. (Can’t type the sign!) Everything else works. As Amazon only have a six month warranty they couldn’t care less. I hadn’t realised they only had a six month warranty. That’s me done purchasing anything expensive from Amazon, in future I will shop elsewhere for high ticket items, deal with someone face to face and know exactly what I am getting. This review will be blocked by Amazon, but they will have had to read it to block it.
