I love this product so much!!! After breaking my Macbook Pro and having it for over 7 years, I needed to purchase a cheaper alternative which would be substantial for my final year of University. I bought this computer after reading and watching endless reviews online and can honestly say it has exceeded my expectations. Despite it being aesthetically pleasing, the large screen is great for having multiple tabs open and finger print access is an added bonus I didn’t realise I needed. As an Apple lover (so I thought), I am super impressed with this product and would recommend it to anyone. My favourite features are the touchscreen, fingerprint access and the large screen view. From having this, I don’t think I will ever go back to an MacBook. I am hooked!

I have been using the surface Laptop go since a week now. The laptop is thin, leight weight and strong. It works completely fine but as soon as I plug it for charging, the fan on the system literally runs at Max and the laptop heats up quickly within a matter of seconds. If you are trying to work in peace, this is not for you as it make a very heavy noise that almost takes your mind off the actual task in hand.
I am currently working from home and it’s almost impossible to have it charged all the time. I did not find that helpful at all.
I tried reaching to the support team, as always I was just told that the fan turns on and runs at it’s max to get rid of the heat.
The touch screen is good and multi tasking is pretty decent. But this loud noise while charging is too much to be overlooked and I don’t think that it’s the ideal piece of technology for the amount of money being charged for it. Only reason I bought this was because I needed something other than my mac to do some studying on. Performance wise, it’s great for office apps, pdfs, internet, excel, music, video etc. Not made for gaming at all.
Out of the box experience – not so great. Whilst you get Windows S and free upgrade to Home, after downloading the new updates the display drivers got all messed up, text was very grainy etc it was horrible so I ended up installing windows pro by wiping the whole drive. Now it works perfect, drivers are all ok.
Only issue I have is the tearing screen issue which is present on all surface go laptops. Not noticeable easily but if you do some fast scrolling through text and web pages then you get some horrible tear. Microsoft are apparently working to fix it but who knows. Been a year already.
The battery is okay, nothing crazy, you’ll end up charging it every 4-5 hours on constant use with multiple apps at the same time.

Windows is not pre-activated, so you need a product key before you can do anything. Not on the laptop, not on the box, not anywhere. Amazon tech support were great but since I couldn’t open e-mail, nor get out of the absurdly restrctive S mode (you can’t even access command prompt) unless I had the product key and activated Windows, nothing worked. I was put through to Microsoft. I was on the phone for almost an hour, mostly waiting, otherwise being passed from one level of tech support to another. None of them had a clue what to do. Having explained the situation in detail and been through all the usual rigmaroles four times, I was cut off. I have returned the item, but what a terrible waste of time.
