I chose this phone for a number of reasons.
Firstly the positives:
1. Battery life – it’s great
2. Price – there aren’t many others out there with this spec around this price
3. Memory – 256gb twice as much as my last phone and great to store photos, apps, and many films
4. Ram – 8gb is unbelievable for a mobile phone and works super fast. It’s actually more ram than my last desktop computer
5. Fingerprint reader – it works really well
6. NFC – for wireless payments quick and easy
7. Bluetooth – it’s never dropped out yet.
It’s only fair to give a balanced review, so here’s the negatives:
1. No wireless charging
2. No facial recognition
3. It’s heavier than any other phone I’ve had, but this should be expected due to the battery size
4. Having had a Huawei Mate 20 Pro before, this camera is not as good. But for the price there’s got to be a bit of give and take
5. It is splash proof, but not waterproof.

Amazing phone for the money. Everything faster and slicker that the Moto G8 Power I had. Like the fingerprint reader on the side too. Only two issues so far. Some old games no longer work (rtype, metal slug, raiden legacy and nethack as main examples). Also not a fan of the Miui OS, but you can turn off the ads and hide most of the baggage with a decent launcher like Nova Launcher, so it feels more like standard Google AOSP. All in all very recommended. 4 out of 5.

My wife purchased Samsung galaxy S20 Fe.. and I didn’t want to pay that much to replace my old phone. So after much looking I purchased the Xiaomi Poco x3 pro. 8gb ram and 256gb memory for 240 pounds.
Having used it for few weeks and comparing to my wife Samsung galaxy S20 Fe….
This phone is absolutely brilliant value. It is every bit as good as the Samsung galaxy, and in some areas even better.
It has way more ways to customise the user experience, especially the sound through the headphones etc. Even the headphones that come with the phone are better than the Samsung galaxy.
It has less preloaded apps, and you can easily delete the ones you don’t want.
It’s just as smooth and fast to use as the Samsung galaxy S20 Fe.
I would say that we noticed no difference in over all use regards Android and the MUI that is on the Xiaomi. Both phones have Android. And the Xiaomi has Miui as extra.
The way you watch videos and listen to music is brilliant and very clear and customisable.

This phone was great for money. It has all the specs of a mid range phone but not a mid range price. The camera is OK. It’s not the best but it does the job. If you’re running short of cash and need a new phone, then I would go for this one.

Nearly 5 days use before needing to recharge, super fast recharging, fantastic screen, fingerprint reader and the on/off button are combined, a good camera, loads of memory space.

I have had several Samsung phones which I have always been happy with but my current 6 year old model would no longer support security updates so a change was necessary. I was more than a little reticent to try a Xiaomi / Poco model and had researched the data collection information which put me off a little. I had good reviews from friends already using Redmi / Xiaomi handsets so based on specs and personal/written reviews I purchased two of the 256GB/8GB versions, one for myself and one for my wife.
Set up was simple (printed instructions just tell you to follow on screen instructions – YouTube is your friend!), revoking permissions for the advertising was fairly quick and simple. Battery life is excellent, transition between multiple apps is quick and smooth, the audio quality from the 2 small speakers is also pretty good. Dual sim was important for us and this facilitates that requirement, either with 2 x nano sims or 1 sim + microSD card. Setup was easily imported from my…
