I purchased this phone last year but observed two months ago that the earphones when plugged in stopped working.
The sound is transferred from the speakers on the phone instead.
I contacted Sony on this matter and they confirmed that it’s a known issue with this phone but I should follow a link to re-install the software on the phone. I did that but the issue was not rectified.
Sony advised that if the phone is under warranty then I should return it either for repair or replacement.
I contacted the seller Digital-OUT on three occasions before getting a response in which I have been informed that I had a three months guarantee period only.
I checked the retailer’s address and noticed that Digital-OUT is not a UK based retailer hence I may be unable to chase them up via the ‘Sale of Goods’ act.

Bought this phone second hand first the signal antenna was not working properly cost me ยฃ20 to repair it now my phone jack doesn’t work I guess that will cost around the same. Good phone but it will cost you more than the tag.
I only gave 2 stars as the seller refunded my expense on the device but this purchase convinced me not to buy anything second hand online.

Reccomend for the price at the time, not always very quick and the battery could be better.

I’ve always been loyal to the Sony brand and since owning the Xperia Z1, which eventually slowed down and experienced lost of loud speaker, I moved onto the Z5 which over a year still works, though a little slow at times and experiences app issues.
I always have a 128gb storage card in them so that it frees up the phone memory and helps with it’s optimal processing.
I wanted a second phone for travels and bought the Z5 Premium. Having had the phone for about 3 months the loud speaker suddnly stopped working. Big disappointment for a phone built for entertainment. One month after and the power button stops working, finger scanner and ability to switch on/off ceases. I was able to to use the dedicated camera button to get to the password screen to access the phone’s contents…until that stopped working the next day. I now had to use a power cable to connect to the phone everytime I wanted to enter the password to regain access.
The phone then freezes after a few days and couldn’t…

Love this phone, excellent viewing screen, takes brilliant photos, looks and feels gorgeous and is waterproof which is great for talking on while walking around in the rain!

display is on FHD not on 4k so cant see it sharper than others.screen is not that bright as u would expect. for 230 you can but better phone.

good phone with lots of features. a bit slippery in the hand and likes to slide off any surface that isn’t 100% flat. picks up scratches on the back fairly easy too.
software works well and is quick, sony do the odd update which is nice also. Camera isn’t the best but does take some nice shots if you are patient.
4k screen looks amazing for films but useless for everything else. even with pics as it does post processing that takes a moment to kick in.
SD slot is good, got a huge card in there that’s great for documents and films.
Battery is ok, can get 2 days out of it with moderate use. hard use kills it in less than a day, light use sees 3-4days.
