Weight readings from these scales correlated wth my existing scales, indicating good accuracy. It’s hard to compare the body composition data with anything else, in the absence of being able to test the data against the InBody Composition machine at the gym (which is obviously closed at present).

Not sure I agree enitrelywith the body water % reading and fat % reading, but they’re always consistent, so the scales are performing in the same way each and every time.

I’ve managed to continue to lose weight and build my body up slightly during lockdown, and these scales have definitely helped.

The app is a bit fiddly, but I’m used to it as I have a Mi Fit band and Xiaomi Mi Note 10 phone. It does what it’s supposed to do, so no issues.

Overall, very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend these to others.

Big fan of Xiaomi. Integrates with MiFit really well. I’ve synced my MiFit to GoogleFit so that I can link it to My Fitness Pal to track calories. A bit cumbersome, but seems to work (can’t link directly between the two). Also, the scales have options for kgs or lbs, no option for stone and lbs. Since I link it with MiFit, I’m used to this and it’s no big deal for me. Looks stylish and futuristic.

As someone who spends a lot of time working out I decided that I should be more informed about the way my body changes and adapts to the different routines/diets I try, thus I decided to invest in a smart scale.
The unboxing and setting up experience is quite simple and there are instructions or youtube videos should you struggle at any point. An important part to take note of is that the scale does not come with any BATTERIES so you will need to buy or use 4 AAA batteries in order to power it up.
Setting it up is simple all you have to do is download the mi fit app from the appstore or google play. Making sure your location services and bluetooth are enabled, click on add a device and select the scale category. Once you select your model simply step on the scale to finish pairing.
Measuring yourself is pretty simple, just place your bare feet (skin to metal circles) on the scale and wait until there are 5 bars under the weight measurement.
The app will provide you with a lot of useful…

Purchased this direct from Amazon. It is a bit expensive compared to normal scales, but this is a “smart” scale. It is therefore able to give more insights than just my weight. There are 12 other measurements ranging from body fat to bone mass. These seem to be within tolerance. For example, body fat – having measured this with a set of calipers and then used the scales, the scales add on 7% body fat vs the calipers. This is OK for me (and the app states I’m within healthy limits). However, I can see how this could be an issue if you’re suddenly stated to be over the healthy limit when you’re not. In which case, you could do what I did and invest in a cheap caliper so you have a benchmark.

The scale itself is very well built and study. I don’t worry about it smashing or cracking. Looks neat too.

In terms of the App, if you use any other Xiaomi health products (such as fitness bands) then you will be familiar with it. It’s basic but it does the job well – summarising the different…

I’ve never seen anything so far off. You could say I’m offended but I’m 6’1 and weigh 97kg but it’s telling me my ideal weight is 72kg, I would literally be anorexic at that weight! I run 3/4 times a week and do 5k each time but it’s telling me my body age is 39. My Garmin watch on the other hand tells me my body age is 20. I don’t think this is suited for mesomorph and endomorph body types. The data is very much set on petite people.

Disclaimer: I’ve been using the Mi Fit app together with my Mi Band (different versions) for years and when I decided to buy a MI smart scale, so that I can use only 1 app to track everything, so I have not researched for other smart scales on the market.
The device is simplistic and elegant and easy to use, the instructions were also clear, so I would assume that even people that have never used the Mi Fit app would not have difficulties using it. Once registered your account and added your device to the app, you just open the app on your phone and step on the scales to activate it and the measurement starts – no brainer.
If you step on the device barefoot you will get your Body scope: BMI index, Body fat %, Water percentage, Protein %, Basal metabolism, Visceral fat, Muscle and bone mass and Body Age (which I found particularly fascinating, since it very correctly reflects your life style). It will also give you advise for your ideal weight, which also looks pretty reasonable. From…
