This replaces a basic pentium Acer from 2015 that plugged into a fast network. Now I’m working at home like many others, I’ve upgraded to this zippy machine. Boot up is 5 seconds and less for powering down, the spacious 512gb hard drive is super slick and it’s a good looking machine. This is for work so no gaming graphics card but this is a great little thing without it. Feels very solid too.

I never have had a computer which was that bad as this one. What I have here, is rubbish. Problems occur with the software I never had before. As the software is the same I have to assume that the computer is bad.

Arrived faulty. After switching off a fun started running till battery went flat. Two days. Requested refund straightaway from Amazon but they do whatever they can to withhold money. Be aware when buying from amazon more valuable item. When i come to refunds it takes amazon much longer that with lower value items. Still no money!!!

Do not buy this laptop!
We bought it at the start of lockdown for our son’s school work. It stopped working after three weeks. The screen just went blank. We sent it to Acer who said it needed new parts. We are still waiting today for the laptop to be fixed and returned. We have had to call customer services many times and have been lied to (we were last told it would arrive on Monday, now being told they don’t know when it will be ready).

Don’t but if you want it to play games. It can run minecraft but even then you’re pushing its limits. Only buy if you need a decent fast laptop for work/college and or Netflix/YouTube

Purchased this at the start of lockdown in the UK as needed a decent pc to work from home. It never left the house and was used on a desk and wasn’t moved. After a month the screen froze temporarily. Rebooted and it came good. After that it started getting screen issues where it would freeze occasionally and not come back, sometimes it would freeze momentarily. Occasionally it would just go black and the whole laptop remain unresponsive for several minutes with no ability to turn off or on again. Started return process for a full refund.

I had been using an old Acer Aspire that was a decade old by the time I bought this new computer. It worked perfectly well but I found the slow boot-up and other performance issues a bit trying. This new Acer took me only a couple of hours to set up and transfer over everything I need. It works very well and is like lightning when it comes to booting up, sending stuff to the wireless printer, opening programs – you name it. None of this is probably exceptional by today’s standards but it has represented an amazing improvement for me. I’d planned to change over across a couple of weeks. Forget that. I moved over the same day and I am not going back. So, if you have an old laptop, especially one that was on Windows 7 and was upgraded to 10 a few years back I’d recommend this as a new budget laptop though at around 600 quid it’s not exactly cheap. It’s also obviously not for gamers. But the screen is excellent and its performance far better suited to Windows 10. It seems to weigh…

I’m thrilled with this laptop. Just as I’d hoped, the screen is crystal clear; the i5-1035G1 (10th Gen) CPU is fast enough for everything except gaming; the 8GB of RAM keeps Windows 10 buzzing along; and the 512GB SSD hard-drive provides plenty of fast-booting storage for my 1000s of documents, photos and videos. There’s nothing flashy about it: it’s the right machine for the right job, at half the price of the slick-branded, convertible, touchscreen models with hi-fi speakers and super-fast graphics cards that I would never use. I don’t envisage running it unplugged very often, but I’ve tested the battery life and it’s excellent. The track-pad and keyboard feel good and there’s a decent array of ports/sockets. Great performance and great value for money.
