Terrible quality action camera. I had problem as soon as I tested it. The video quality itself it’s not bad for a cheap action camera, but the recording has serious quality issue: it slows down, shows flares etc. I tried several different top class SD card, same results. I also contacted the customer service sending them the video. They came back saying they were investigating the issue but, after more than a week, I haven’t heard anything back from them.

I’m going travelling to Madagascar soon and I really wanted a hardy little camera to take with me when I’m diving or crossing that insane bridge that I’ve been told about. However, I really didn’t want to spend a hilarious amount for it, I won’t really use it that much to justify the amount GoPros cost.
The camera arrived very quickly, thank you Prime, and although there was a lot of trial and error with how all these accessories worked and how they attached themselves to the camera, I really liked everything about it. It’s super simple to use (if you use it enough to remember what each of the four button does) and I love how I can connect it to my phone!
I tried to take pictures and I took an underwater video, everything worked very well – even when I used the supplied remote control (which looks like a cheap piece of plastic, it still worked great). I wanted to get my boyfriend a GoPro for his birthday but was stunned at the prices and thought โthereโs got to be other brands out thereโ anyway after doing loads of research, watching review videos and looking at โAmazonโs choiceโ I found this and couldnโt believe the value for money. I canโt compare it to the GoPro but other people have online and for me it was a no-brainer. Comes with loads of accessories to get you started and there are loads more available to purchase if you want extra. Canโt wait to take this to Centreparcs this weekend and then on our holidays at the end of the month! It doesnโt come with an SD card but I bought a 64gb one for 4K action cams from curryโs which works great!

When I was browsing for action cameras, I really just wanted two things: a secondary camera to complement my SJ4000 by SJCAM as well as my ZOOM Q8 (which also comes equipped with a 170ยบ lens, to record live shows) but also something that could be used as a webcam to record my drum covers. The AKASO EK7000 seemed to fit the bill.
Mind you that, despite having fixed goals for the kind of gear I wanted to buy, I pretty much bought the AKASO just out of the fact that it was recommended by Amazon and it was well rated. That was enough for me.
Exactly three days after my order I got the AKASO and was excited to try it. Particularly because of a few handy added functions: Wifi for remote viewing with the iPhone, a controller “wrist watch” to snap pictures and take videos (both of these within a reasonable distance), and the fact that it can record up to 4K doesn’t hurt either.

For a very cheap action camera this is ok. The housing is however not waterproof, certainly not to 30m as claimed – mine flooded on the surface, apparently from around the lens judging by the bubbles.
Also, the number of 5 star reviews should have raised suspicions – the reason for them became apparent when the camera arrived with a card promising cash back or free accessories in exchange for said 5 star reviews on condition that a screen shot of the review was sent to them and no mention of their bribe was made.
In summary, if youโre in the market for a cheap action camera to use in dry land, this is likely to be fine – just keep your expectations low, keep it dry and ignore the reviews!
