I had high hopes for this Alienware monitor, having already got a benQ Zowie 24.5 240hz tn panel I wanted to give ips a try.
Ran into issues right away, the dp port would not recognise anything going into it from the pc. I tried various dpi cables, changed ports and even tried the leads in another monitor I had (which connected fine).
Hdmi registered on the ps5 and eventually on the pc, but I HAD to have the usb 3.0 port also plugged into the pc.
Issues I ran into then were dpi on one monitor, hdmi on the other, I got some freeze frames, I got booted from the game and had to tab alt back in, by then it was curtains in apex arenas.
I tried every solution I could think of to solve the dp connection (as u see in the video) it would not recognise it.
Extremely frustrating, picture quality through hdmi was very vibrant in load screens and before action kicked in, but actually a little too saturated and dark, even with black equaliser…

Brilliant monitor. Expensive but the quality is great.
For the person who rated it 1 star for only 120HZ, you need to change the setting in windows 10 display options. If that doesn’t work you need to use the mini display port. Some computers limit HDMI to 120HZ.
Mini USB should fix that.

Excellent monitor but of course for the price expected nothing less. Did a lot of research as want this to be my last monitor so needed it to be good but it has far outweighed my expectations.

I spent so much time looking at monitors it made my head hurt, trying to get the perfect screen to show off my newly built rig, intel i9 10900 nvidia 3080, and the reviews I read on this were mainly glowing, 240hz great picture etc.
Of course from a great company like dell (Alienware) thought can’t go wrong. It comes in most impressive packaging I’ve seen outside apple, even building the stand onto it is impressive (whilst still in its box), be aware the way the box comes apart no way u can send bk. The back of the monitor glows with rgb lights (standard blue) when on which gives it a premium feel however the extra software you need to download to control the different colours is not compatible with windows 10.
I could go on for long time but here is quick break down
Pro-
Great picture – upto 1920 240hz
Remembers monitor presets in diff games
Cons-NOT HDR – this is vital for gamers and u need to decide wether this is a deal breaker.
Not 4K – meh at this price point most monitors are not…

For me it takes up too much space, and the colours are a bit weird. I tried it on comfort view and what that does is give a slightly weird greenish tinge to the screen. Nothing comfort about that. I have to have the brightness turned right down as I have photophobia, but other than that, picture quality quite impressive, and I like the RGB stand.

Excellent quality, packaging was unbelievably secure, picture, stand and cable management on this is amazing, the only drawback is the sheer thickness of the stand, luckily I’ve got a wide desk but if your desk is any narrower than 65cm I think you’d struggle with it, also you can’t rotate the screen easily like most monitors because of the cables going through the base on this, it will just kind/stretch them (not that I ever need to, I dont like the vertical displays one bit), if it wasnt so bulky I’d happily give it 5 stars, the RGB is adjustable to how you want it, it does give my wall a nice glow to it which means I don’t need my LED strip from my last monitor anymore, it did take a while to get the settings I needed like most monitors, but on the standard settings the picture wasnt great, now its excellent

Insane monitor, the ability to play at 240hz at 1ms with an IPS panel is so immersive.

Set up the monitor and it’s saying the refresh rate can only go to 120hz I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else ?
