Doggy Roger –
This is my second AOC 24 inch HDMI monitor, the first after five years had succumbed to the attentions of one of my young cats.
I was surprised but pleased to discover that this monitor costs about €45 less than the first one. For a monitor of this quality the price is extremely competitive.
The sharpness of the picture is noticeably better, as is the colour rendering, as is the speed of response, down from 4ms to 1ms, which is quite noticeable in practice.
As has been noted here by other users, this monitor is much less tolerant of one’s angle of vision being other than exactly a right angle. Even a very slight move up or down results in a distinct milkyness and reduction of definition. For me this is not a problem because I can always adjust my position but there might well be a problem if several people need to look at the screen at the same time. I suspect that this slight defect is the result of compromises which had to be made when the engineers were tightening up the screen’s definition.
Unqualified strong recommendation, yet again.

Setting up the monitor physically, attaching the stand etc were easy, it all clicks together, no tools needed. Height is not adjustable, but it works OK for me with my varifocals, always a bit tricky with monitor height and distance. My initial disappointment was picture quality. I swapped it for my old monitor with RGB cable and the picture was bad, fuzzy and too light. I changed the RGB for HDMI and then it was clearer and sharper, so I would recommend to bin the RGB at the native 1920 x 1080 resolution, and only use HDMI. However, then I had a lot of problems with picture brightness. Even on the brightness 0 setting from the manual control, it was too glary, blacks washed out greys, whites hurting the eyes, and I was beginning to think I would have to return it. I spent a couple of hours fiddling with the awful manual control buttons trying to get a decent brightness/contrast level. Then I installed the drivers and read the manual, always a good idea, and installed the control software, called i-Menu. From this I found a setting called Picture Boost, subsetting Bright Frame. In this, setting brightness to 20%, Frame size 100%, contrast 40% gave a good result, nice black blacks, comfortable white, good contrast on Windows icons. Not easy to find though, not exactly intuitive! Pity it doesn’t do this out of the box. Now it looks good and works well enough for me, so I am giving it (just) 4 stars as good value for money. Sharpness is OK, not fantastic by today’s standards (I compare with my Dell monitor at work, which is significantly clearer). It is a nice big monitor that works well with dual input – I have one HDMI from my desktop, and use the other to plug in my work laptop and use as an extended screen, which works very well also. So, not sure I would recommend it, but just about good enough and value for money. I don’t use it for gaming, so can’t comment on that.

I bought these two monitors to replace my ever dying previous ones and these have perfectly taken their place.
There is a real difference when you have been constantly working from home on a 1440×900 16:10 monitor and then replace them with some real nice Full HD 1080p monitors!
Both sit real nice on the desk and make things look sleek!
Really easy to unpackage!
Really easy to put together i.e. neck and base… just push them in until you hear 2 loud clicks.
Easy to turn on but a bit awkward on the menu side of things… there is only one button on these monitors and that is the power button so navigating the menu is a little weird.
Recommend putting the provided disc into the computer to install and run the drivers and in there it will send you to a link to look at the instruction manual.
ONE THING: The DVI, VGA, HDMI and POWER CABLES ARE SHORT (certainly were for me) so get some longer ones ordered or use the previous ones you may already have.
The monitors themselves look amazing on my…

Good value for money, so much so bought a second of these. Neither have any dead pixels, don’t expect top quality display but to be expected at this cost and was surprisingly better than expected.

With it’s straight-forward design, this 22″ monitor is ideal for office/home-office set ups. Whilst it doesn’t feature any form of manoeuvrability, it does support VESA mounting – ideal for wall & arm mounting to achieve that custom positioning you might be looking for. The resolution is 1920×1080 with a 5ms response time.
Although not specifically intended for heavier use, this model can perform at a standard pace when needed. I tested its capabilities on 3 games, including Cities: Skylines, OMSI 2 and Watch Dogs 2 and found that the monitor performs remarkably well. With Full HD LED design you’re obviously can’t expect 4K style gaming but after playing a couple hours on each I can say that I never noticed any bugging-out or visual imperfections. I don’t play shooters or FPS games so I can’t comment on that level, but I’d recommend the 1ms AOC model for that, if you want to keep within this tier of monitors.
Connectivity includes 1 x HDMI and 1 x VGA, with both cables provided in…

Great monitor for the price, works as expected and does the job well. Just a word of warning, make sure to get the monitor with both HDMI and VGA inputs as I read some reviews here saying that it doesn’t have an HDMI connection which is true of the other model called Vesa E2270SWN, so be sure to check before ordering if that is what you want. The Vesa E2270SWHN is the one with HDMI & VGA inputs.
