I have a greyhound whose farts can clear a room in 10 seconds. He was doing this all night long. We had our noses tucked into the neck of our jumpers most of the night. This dog was ripe and explosive!!! Tried several different brands of dog food and it made no difference. Next dog food on trial was Arden grange. This has definately made an improvement to his chemical agent guffs. Now he just rips the lining off our nasal passages 2 or 3 times a night as opposed to a sulphur fuelled airfreshener on full blast all evening.

I always buy hypo-allergenic food for my dog as she has a sensitive stomach. I introduced this gradually by mixing it with her previous food and gradually increasing the quantity. She enjoys it and it has not upset her stomach at all. As she doesn’t like dry dog food on its own, I mix the food with chicken and vegetables that I cook for her. She much prefers this and it means that she gets the best of both worlds – fresh food and dry. This food is quite reasonably priced and I will buy it again.

UPDATE – As my dog liked this dog food I intended to keep buying it. However, when I went to buy it again, I discovered it was only available to Prime members. Extremely unfair and it meant that I had to find another suitable dog food. The reason that I am not a Prime member is that I live in a rural location and our broadband is very poor. This means that I am not able to watch films online so Prime would be of no use to me.

I give my terrier cross breed a mix of food; wet in the morning and dry in the evening. He loves this kibble mix and it’s gone in no time. My main reason for choosing this food is that the protein isn’t derived from hoof, horn and other high protein, cheap and difficult to digest bits of the animal. This food is made from chicken and I don’t really know how good all the various ingredients are, but it seems to hit the spot. As a dry food, it’s good for helping keep his teeth plaque free. I don’t feed him large amounts of this food; it’s relatively high in fat content and although active, he’s inclined to put on weight easily. If you have any concerns about weight, you may want to limit how much of this particular food your dog eats. It’s palatable, easy to store and keeps fresh in the sack if the corner of the bag is closed with a peg.

Good quality food product. Disgusted at Amazon for hiking prices, especially for people who don’t need “Prime” membership. Amazon loses most of my purchases now due to this. Go to Zooplus instead as it’s much cheaper and you can get discount codes for Zooplus too. I paid £47.50 for 2 x 12KG bags.

I have two small breed dogs, one getting on in years and one that is a few years old. They couldn’t be more different when it comes to dietary preferences and needs, so shopping for food takes a lot of hard work and research. I make changes in their diet every two years, so that they don’t become bored or fussy with meals. New foods are slowly introduced to lower any digestive impact and so far this has worked for us wonderfully.

We have been very loyal to the Applaws brand of dog food for the current feeding cycle, with 75% protein. I don’t feed my dogs a lot of wet because I want to avoid bad teeth and breath in old age, but I look for good protein content and less filler. Applaws was good mixed with another small breed variety, which has tiny kibbles that my Jack Russell appreciated. The large bag sizes that I wanted seem harder to find now that I’m replenishing stock, so I did some looking and came across Arden Grange.

The protein content isn’t as high as Applaws, but it’s…

Our breeder recommended Arden Grange puppy food Tonus a couple of years back when we got out Cockapoo and we’ve used that ever since for her and our other dogs.

More recently we switched to the adult version and we’re equally impressed. All four dogs, who are a bit fussy, seem happy to eat it and the kibble is a fine size for them all too (small chihuahua up medium cockapoo). It’s not the most fragrant of things, but what dog food is? The dogs also like it if wet from time to time, but that really makes it stink.

One thing I have noticed is that it doesn’t cause eye staining, which a number of previous brands did. Another positive is that all our dogs seem to have nice, soft coats which I can only really put down to this food.

Overall, not cheap but the best price/quality trade off we’ve found so far.
