ordered this cable to replace the one from the wall socket to my BT router, believing it would be better than the standard cable that came with the router, while the cable seems well made and durable, and thicker than the original, it proved to be no more better than the standard cable it replaced, I ran a speed test and there was no improvement or increase in my internet speed.
while the cable gives more durability than the standard cables that come with routers, it serves no real practical use that I can see,, for the price, it’s expensive for what it is !

Amazon are giving me the weirdest criteria to rate products on these days. Ignore those – what you need to know is that this short cable will connect your FTTC broadband modem to the wall with a minimum of fuss. That said, it needed a bit of a shove into the back of my BT modem in order to engage the clip – a casual push was not really enough to lock in, so use the appropriate amount of heft.

I paid ยฃ9.99 For a standard adsl filter, I was expecting something rather more than this, I have purchased these same filters for less than ยฃ2 and a better make. This one mentions nothing about it being a BT adsl filter. I will be more vigilant in future, and I’ll be very choosy who I buy from.

I have been really impressed with this item. I was having slower than expected sync speeds on my fibre broadband using the 2m cable supplied with the router. Openreach engineer was getting 64mbps sync when he connected directly into the test socket, but I wasn’t getting anywhere near this.

I replaced the supplied cable with this one (0.5m) and my sync speed instantly increased from 56.5mbps to 64.1mbps.

(I also replaced the ethernet cable between my router and wireless access point from a cat 5 to a cat 7, but I wouldn’t expect that to affect the sync speed)

If you are using a “long” ISP-supplied cable then I would definitely recommend giving this a go.

So the microfilter/splitter that came with the new NowTV broadband router stopped working after about 2 hours (probably due to being plugged in and unplugged multiple times while I tried to install a BT Openreach Master Socket…see separate review) – there’s at least an hour’s delay to get NowTV to answer the phone, so, rather than wait, I ordered one of these. It arrived fine, worked OK, but as I had found a spare D-Link splitter (after ordering it; before it arrived) I had been using that. Checking broadband speed with each showed this one to allow about half the download and upload speed compared to the ‘old’ D-Link, so this is poor by comparison.
If you have a great phone line, and a good network, it’s probably OK, but it’s just poor quality performance.

A godsend, I have cable internet through dsl living in the sticks, this meant in parts of my house I’d lose connection. I bought thi wire so I could place my modem central to my home which is l shaped. I now get internet connection in every room and even in the next house to me from my modem, Best Buy I’ve dine in ages and so simple to set up.

Some day delivery fixed my problem. Used inappropriate splitter to connect phone and broadband in the same plug that reduced my speed significantly(12 mbps). Just run a speed test and I got 72mbps and I have a landline as well!!! Definitely recommend .

This cable connects your broadband router to your incoming broadband wall socket. Not a lot to say about it: it does the job! I purchased mine to replace the original cable on which one of the jacks had become damaged and wouldn’t engage properly, hence my broadband service ‘came and went’ too frequently. As expected, the new cable gave a a very satisfying ‘click’ at both ends when being installed – job done! The only thing to consider is the length of cable you need; obviously, it needs to reach from the socket to wherever you want to position the router, which will often be nearby, so the shortest length will often suffice.
