    Pros:

Price, it is OK (the cons make me reconsider, should’ve went for cheaper)

    Lightweight

    Quick boot up

    Cons:

Upon opening the box, there was a mark on the chromebook

The dust sheet wasn’t the right fit, was folded a bit

    No protective screencover

2 screws now missing at the bottom of the laptop, 2 gaping blackholes now

As for the chromebook performance, considering the price, it is OK if a bit laggy when I open up YouTube page

The other con that let me down:

No matter how many time I power washed the device, am not able to receive my free 50gb cloud space from Google

Going to try contact them in the weekend

I’m wondering if I’ve been given an old laptop that’s been returned?
Anyone else have the same issue?

Thinking of returning the item, though have become accustomed to the chromebook quite quickly and it’s weight is nice and lighy

Will see in a weeks time

Apart from the cons, it’s a peculiar lightweight, fast Chromebook that’s starting to rub off on me, starting to become attached to it

    Update…

Was keen to update my Chromebook experience and particularly liked the idea of the larger screen at 15.6 inches. Screen quality is certainly not the best in the world, but then for £250 you can’t grumble too much. Battery life seems quite amazing, though the feedback in the settings box seems a bit erratic – might say 11 hours remaining at one point and then 6 hours remaining just half an hour later!

Only in the first week, but it’s doing all I wanted for sure – though I’m all Apple otherwise, this is a great machine for taking when you are going to be away from the office for a few days. Large, yes, but lightweight and very easy to set up. I wanted a good typing and viewing space for emails, Tweets, and notes, as well as a good browsing screen – this computer does all of that and more. Keyboard is good for typing too.

Value for money at £250 is exceptional – especially if it lasts as well as my first Chromebook, which is a Samsung 10-inch model, and something like 7 or 8 years old…

As the title says, no issues doing web browsing and using Google docs. Not a single hiccup, and battery life is great. Sometimes the device can be a bit slow to start up depending on what apps you left open before closing the device. But once it gets going, it’s a very smooth experience.

Keyboard is better than what I expected at this price point, it has enough feedback on the keys for even prolonged typing sessions to not feel like a chore (and I say this after using a mechanical keyboard all day at work, and if not that a £1000 business laptop).

Speakers are quite tinny sounding however, and the screen seems to have a very cold hue to it. My only complaints.

This chromebook is a change from my previous windows laptop. The bulk of the features are the same & if you’re used to using google then you will pick up on the small changes quickly & easily enough. It’s a nice size, runs smoothly & is perfect for someone like myself who wants a laptop for everyday browsing, shopping, checking emails etc.

The good points – Great battery life, light in weight, fast response, 15.4″ low reflection screen size, expandable memory (with a micro SD card), attractive price.
Bad points – Only 3 years life left on this model before updates stop, there is no ‘right click’ on the trackpad despite many help sites telling you to right click (you have to tap on the pad with two fingers), the Gmail app will not import emails from other providers historically back beyond when you first fired the machine up (been all over the web and can’t find an answer to this that actually works but many others have the same issue), scrolling down a page is best done with 2 fingers rather than the scroll bars which vanish, screen contrast depends on the angle of view (tip the screen back more, you get more contrast), cannot put shortcuts on the desktop.
A few months later: Dropped another star. The display is either getting worse or it’s just a washed out mess that’s difficult to read. Very poor contrast and no way…

This 15″ netbook is really excellent value for money. I think the people who submit negative reviews are either forgetting how low the price is on this computer or the fact that it’s a netbook and expect the equivalent of a windows PC.
The screen is not perfect from every angle but does display and stream a decent hd picture which is amazing at the price. I am currently streaming the live coverage of the Giro d’Italia on it and have no complaints at all.
If you stream most of your entertainment, store your files in the cloud and use Chrome as your main web browser you can’t go wrong with this for the money, especially if your mobile’s an Android

Product has a limited updates June 2024. Also numerous reviews about touch screen display. That’s all the negative. Positive are the 8gb ram and 64gb storage. My current chrome book stopped receiving updates today after 5 years. so I opted for a new Chromebook with a large screen. Was going to get a Chromebox for use with external screen but this was cheaper. As the screen is better than expected I will use as a mobile device. Multiple screen suppy is via a laptop usbc docking station.

I first became a fan of Chromebook 5 years ago, my windows pc an laptop started to run slow on Christmas. Eventually after 48 hours the virus scan on the pc reported a virus. Formatted both a bought my first Chromebook in the January sale. In five years I had to reset it twice. Total down time 10 minutes.

Still use a windows pc for the few things Chromebook will not do iTunes and work VPN. With more things moving to the cloud and web based , I use my Chromebook more and may not replace my pc when it…
