First time when we bought this food, everything was fine. Our dog liked it and had no problems. But the second time it made our dog sick. Everytime after eating he had a bad stomach and diarrhea. We’ve tried to stop the food a few times and things were better but once we’ve started again with this food he became sick again. Maybe it was just this bag of food which was bad? But I won’t buy it again because 12 KG is a lot of food to throw out and expensive too…

Iโve been feeding this to my three miniature poodles (ages 4, 5 and 6) for practically their entire lives. However, most recently theyโve become very bored of it. They wonโt eat it for breakfast and theyโll only eat it for dinner if itโs mixed in with wet food. Iโve since changed to another brand of dry food for their breakfast, which they are very excited about. The size of the individual balls of kibble has changed over the many years Iโve been buying it. Itโs now much smaller balls, there seems to have been a manufacturing change, which could explain why my dogs no longer enjoy it. They produce a lot of stools on this food which can also be indicative of a lesser quality pet food. In addition, this particular bag arrived with lots of holes in (almost like something had bitten it open), or it had been damaged in the packaging/delivery process. Whilst Iโm aware this particular food is higher quality than many others available, I do feel there are now better products available.

People mention price here often but if you do your research right you will see that barking heads is actually one of the cheapest premium brands! some charge ยฃ25 for 2kg ! we have 10mth puppy and started introducing adult food. moving from barking heads pupp to this one – smooth transition so far, we only give her 10% of adult and rest still puppy. no loose poo, no lose of appetite. We went through a lot of reviews & articles on dog food. even before we got a dog we new exactly what she will be eating ๐ she is on BH and thriving!

Not happy at all, the kibble looks and smells completely different to normal, my poor dog has been unwell every day for a week since I opened this bag, yet I had been given absolutely no information that the recipe had been changed?! Absolutely disgraceful, my poor dog. Item is completely defective yet I’m unable to return and/or get a refund

My dog has had this food for the past 2 years and enjoyed every meal time. The last two bags I have bought haven’t gone down well at all. Checked the bag was in date, which it was. The only difference I could tell was the biscuits were waxy rather than covered in powder. Thought it may have been an off bag so waited for the next bag to arrive on the auto deliver. Sadly the same again, dog has just turned his nose up. He’s a lab, he never turns his nose up for food!! Not risking a third bag now looking for another brand to bring pleasure back to his meal times.

I believe that a dog eats when it’s hungry (as long as she/he is healthy)…until my GSD.
She would not eat enough and was losing weight to something scary but there was nothing wrong with her according to the vet.
Having tried all sorts of foods I was quite sceptical with this product but bought it in the hopes of a miracle.
I’m extremely pleased to say that I’ve found my miracle.
She eats every meal without a fail and is gaining weight on a steady pace.

We have been buying Barking Heads dog food for our Jack Russell for many years now and heโs always really enjoyed the food until the last couple of batches. The food has left grease stains on the โoutsideโ of our wooden cupboards that it is stored in. It is a completely different standard and our dog has vomited multiple times after eating it. When I phoned Barking Heads the lady I spoke to was very nice and polite and said to send them an email with pictures, batch numbers and a description of the problem, that was weeks ago and I have still not heard back from them. She did say on the phone they have changed manufacturers but the recipe and standards remain the same. My vomiting dog who will not eat it anymore and grease covered cupboards disagree!

Bought this as it had good ratings on All About Dog Food.
Introduced it for 1/6 of my puppyโs food on the first day ie half of one of his 3 meals. He ate it up and seemed to like it, but the. Heโs not fussy at all.
That evening he was violently sick, this lasted into the following day. Really didnโt think it was the food so tried again the following week after his tummy had settled.
Again, he vomited a couple off hours after eating the meal.
Just to check, I offered him some if this and some of his usual food as a treat. Heโs not fussy and gobbles it up usually. He carefully selected his old food, and left this on the floor.
It really, really didnโt agree with him ๐
