I bought this receiver for bluetooth version 5.1. Even though the device shows its name as a “Bluetooth 5.1 Adapter” in device manager, however by looking at its firmware specification Id, it is actually a 5.0 device.
Bluetooth 5.1 should be using firmware spec LMP 10.xx, LMP 9.x is for Bluetooth 5.0.

Initially I gave a one star review because Amazon claimed they had delivered it when they hadn’t, it arrived a few days later.
The one star referred to the delivery but not the product.
The product works really well. Surprisingly the sound quality is significantly better using this dongle to connect my PC to my airPod pros compared to connecting them directly to my iPhone 12!
For sound quality it gets 10 out of 10.
The range is however significantly less compared to connecting my airpod pros to my iPhone.
When I connect to my iPhone 12 I can walk around my entire apartment from room to room without using Bluetooth connection, when I connect my airpod pros to my PC using this Bluetooth dongle it works perfectly within the same room but begins to break up when I go into the rooms.
For Bluetooth range don’t expect it to go through walls.
Setup was fairly straightforward if you are okay with downloading some drivers.
Basically you download the drivers then simply drag drivers onto your desktop…

I plugged the dongle in installed the drivers but Windows 10 kept stopping the device with an error 43 message in device manager. I even went to Realteks website and downloaded the latest drivers for the device. (it’s a Realtek chipset). Restarted several times, uninstalled, reinstalled, disabled, enabled the device but still the error persisted. I was on the verge of sending this back before I tried one last thing. I noticed I had plugged it into a USB2 port so I removed it and plugged it in to a blue USB3 port. Straight away the device fired up and device manager now recognised the new bluetooth 5.1 device. Seems this wont work with windows 10 when plugged in via a USB2 port. However, no mention of this in seller spec or manufacturer spec. Only 3 stars because of this problem.

Connected first time and every boot on both Win10 & Mac OS, headphones, (with phone mic connection), 5 button Bluetooth mouse etc. Works very well.

I was on the verge of returning this today when my BT keyboard would not connect to it, I then noticed in the small box that there was an installation CD with it. Two minutes after finding it, it works fine.

Fiddly to get it reliably working with Windows 10, I often have to forget and re-add bluetooth devices.
The deal breaker for me is that it doesn’t support the AirPod Pro microphone – although I appears that not many do (for those that want this, the Jabra 370 dongle does support this but is expensive).

Good little bluetooth dongle. Bought purposely to connect my headphones to desktop. Easy to install on win10, works perfectly. Sound in headphones is much better then connected to mobile phone and finally no hanging cables.

Arrived next day after ordering. Very quick and very pleased. Quite a detailed but slightly confusing leaflet with instructions on how to install but having said that, I just downloaded the software from the website (didn’t bother using the small disc), plugged in the dongle and voila! Up and running and my headphones work like a charm. All in all, very happy with purchase and at a reasonable price.
