Iโm sure the printer is great, but network setup is an absolute nightmare!
I agree with many of the other reviews that setting up this printer up on a network is an absolute nightmare. A job which should have taken about 30 minutes, ended up taking about 2.5 hours due to scant instructions which donโt work anyway.
For what itโs worth, hereโs how I got it to work in the end:
1. Initially, the printer needs to be within spitting distance of your router to connect it to your wireless network
2. Use manual configuration to connect wirelessly (donโt use the automatic setup included in the software)
– Press menu on the printer โ press the down arrow to select network โ WLAN โ network wizard. It will search for available SSIDs, select yours and then input the network key using the up and down arrows above and below the OK button. Press OK between each character/letter and then press OK twice to finish. The printer will connect to your wireless connection and the wireless light on the front of…

I wanted a simple printer for home, but found far too much choice. And for every printer the had 100+ “5 or 4 star” reviews, it would also have 10s of “1 or 2 star” reviews as well. What became clear me, and helped me select this printer (and might help you) was the following:
1. “Laser” is far better quality (used on office printers) and far less susceptible to “ink problems” than “Ink jet”;
2. Many “good value printers are a con as they either come with a cartridge that gives you 10 prints, or ties you in to cartridge replacement contracts, or automated replacement. I want be in control and know when my cartridge is. really empty!
3. I only want to print letters & forms, and not photos, so colour printing is not important, and helps reduce complexity and ink costs;
4. I wanted wireless to use with my MAC, but use with mobile devices was not a priority;
5. I want good quality prints/copies/scans, and to be able to scan colour sources;
6. I will only be printing a few pages a week, and…

I was tired of replacing ink cartridges, that were far from empty, on a printer that I only infrequently used, on which I did not print in colour, and which constantly needed the head cleaning. I decided that I needed a fast B&W printer that would print reliably after being idle for days, scan and copy, so I chose this, very competitively priced, small footprint laser printer. I am told that you only need to shake the toner cartridge to loosen the toner if it misbehaves. So far it has been reliable and fast with good print quality. If you recognise my issues, I recommend that you buy this.

ย I bought this printer to revise my thesis from home. With help with the instruction booklet and a couple of Youtube installation videos, I finally manage to install the printer on my Mac. Once everything was done accordingly, it starts printing fast and quiet. It also has a decent print quality. I am absolutely satisfied with the purchase.
