We live in a Tardis of a house – that sprawls and rambles 2/3 around on the ground floor. Some 4,000 square feet. We are still with the HomeHub5 – and have spent plenty on range extenders with at best limited success.
Then I bit the bullet – and bought the 3 disc pack.
Prime delivered next day. Was hesitant on account of the premium cost.
No regrets.
Certainly took less than 15 minutes. The App was excellent in this regard.
Minor issue 1 – in order for each disc “to go Blue” – indicating excellent signal from hub or previous disc – the effective spacing is less than you might think.
So for us it became apparent that 3 discs would have to be at least 5.
So the cost rises from £180 to £300.
But it still represents good value.
Most importantly now Wifi is strong everywhere inside the house.
And 60Mb at the hub is pretty much 50Mb+ everywhere.
Tip1 – when adding second set of discs – READ what the Ap says; out of the box to link each direct to hub FIRST – so that discs 4,5,6… can take on the…

I purchased this for a 4 floored house with BT Superfast fibre 2 broadband coming in on the top floor.
Next floor down was ok, ground floor was fluctuating greatly and the basement was non existent. So I purchase this so I could put a disc on the ground & basement floors. Kept dropping out on the ground floor and could not get a signal down to the basement. Sent it back.
Purchased a NETGEAR 11AC 1200 Mbps (300 Mbps + 900 Mbps) Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender with External Antennas (Wi-Fi Booster) (EX6120-100UKS), put it on the ground floor and hey presto we have 4 bars on both the ground and basement floors. Saved myself £150 and got what I wanted in the end.
Don’t bother with the BT Whole Home Wifi because it won’t cover a town house, obviously not the right sort of ‘home’.

Finally, something that removes dead spots from my Wi-Fi setup. Having used various different wireless routers and Wi-Fi extenders with little success I opted for this solution. I’m currently using Virgin’s latest router which has rubbish Wi-Fi. No problems getting this to work with it. The BT disks have great range, speed and reliability!
Very easy to set up. Download the App, Connect the first disk by wire (supplied) to your router and follow the instructions. You’re then prompted to add another disk which clones the wireless info from the first. You can move the disk around until you find a “sweet spot”, somewhere far enough away from the first to bounce the signal on without being too close and overlapping it. You can name each disk as you go – Living Room, Bedroom etc. making it easy to manage later on.
You can choose to either disable the Wi-Fi on your router and just use this or leave both running. I’ve not had any interference so left both. Then just connect your wireless…

I’ve been trying to get a good network across the house for years, for the last few, using a TP Link Powerline system. Unfortunately, that system keeps dropping out and is by no means as fast as I need.
Now onto this, at last, a WiFi network that is not only fast but extremely stable.
The set up process is a breeze, you just download the BT app onto your device (I’ve now got it on Apple and Android devices) and it walks you through how to do it. As you are locating the discs around the house, you use the App to find the best locations which is a real time saver, plus you get the best network this way. Probably all up and running within 1/2 an hour on the pack of three but then I discovered that three just were not going to be enough for the size and shape of the house. Two days later , another pack arrived so in total there are now six in the house (see the plan on the video for an idea of the coverage you get). The house has…
