It’s a good printer, can print slow but your not getting this for speed your getting it for print quality and the amazing ink tanks. I have been using mine for a while now and I’m not even half way through the tanks and I print lots of logo labels and high ink use tracing paper.
So far it has printed on with no problems
-tracing paper
4×6 postage labels
Kraft post cards
Kraft a4
Glossy labels
Any label really
Water transfer paper
Straight on to packaging
And that’s just what I have tested. It is a great printer

The printer was a pain to set up on a Mac. An error message appeared at the second stage requiring a call for tech support. The Cannon tech agent was impatient and ultimately simply rude. It required him to take control of the computer which was not a straightforward process made more difficult than it need have been through his attitude. Finally after determining my computers drivers were corrupted he proposed I needed additional tech support at some cost. When I indicated I needed to think about it he angrily pointed out it had taken 47 minutes to that point. I put the phone down and eventually a neighbour resolved the problem which proved to be the connection to the router and the fact the old Canon driver was interfering with the installation. Once deleted problem solved. Canon need to address their โcustomerโ service. Other reviewers have made similar comment. As for the printer which is a Which Best Buy my initial observations are it is flimsier in construction in comparison…

I have had the printer for a few days now and have had no problems with it and it prints faster than my other one and was very easy to set up not like my other one I have had a cannon app and it was so easy to get them both to communicate so now I can print out whatever I want even from a different room all in all a very good printer xx

I bought this printer to replace an older Canon one which eventually began to print less sharply than I needed. This new printer certainly prints very sharp characters so that is sorted. However I must have missed the fact that it does not do automatic double side printing (which I am used to) so that annoyed me. It does do double sided printing but you have to re-insert the paper manually after it has printed one side.
My second irritation is that the display on the printer is very difficult to read – I have to really strain to read it as it is dark on a dark background. I do not understand why Canon would have made such a simple error in the build of this printer.
On the plus side the ink wells (rather than cartridges) are great – easy to handle and to check how much is left. Printing photographs has also been very good – clear and bright images.

This printer was tempermental and would print sometimes and other would give error messages that were not consistent. I even resorted to using a USB cable which didn’t solve the problem. This caused me major headaches and was returned

Absolutely the worst printer I have ever bought. Was recommended to this model as reviews were encouraging and I wanted something more substantial and with more functionality. It has so far, filed to connect to both my MacBook and iMac. It stops halfway through printing and the fault light comes on indicating a paper tray error. Sometimes it just takes ages to print a simple document. Canon support is laughable and of little value. I will try one more time for them to fix this or it’s money back/ebay/tip!

Scans well but only 2 of the 4 inks worked and Iโd avoid this product from Canon.
Amazon support referred me to the manufacturer but were happy to let me return. Good service.
Tiny and Roger –
Very quick and easy to set up on both our laptops and mobiles. A friend has had one for two years and is still on the ink supplied with the printer, he highly recommended Canon inktank. We use our printer a fair amount. Had an Epson cartridge printer before this and the cost of ink was extortionate. At this time this gets 5 stars. Iv’e given it 5 stars for warmth and thickness. (??????)
