The printing quality is good & it’s quick to print, I have it in my costume kit bag for on set continuity so it’s great.

The prints are quite expensive & it reminds me of the old days with Polaroids.

The battery doesn’t last long at all, 3 hours at the most & thats turning it off in between use.

You need a app to use it & although it’s not guided how to use said app a little common sense goes a long way.

This Canon Zoemini is the 3rd brand of ZINK printer I have had the occasion to try out. We also have the Polaroid ZIP and the Lifeprint LP001-6, so I’m able to compare the three here.

Canon arrives late to the party with the Zooming; the Polaroid ZIP came out way back in 2015 by comparison. However, where you’d think that companies like Polaroid would have moved the game on over the years, giving the Canon a hard time to catch up, the two are, in fact, very similar in many respects. I have seen reference to the Canon Ivy printer, but it is not clear if that’s a previous model or a different name for the Zoemini (as the two look very similar).

Aesthetics aside, in terms of hardware the three printers are all very similar; opening in similar ways to load the paper, having similar controls, similar sizes (though the Lifeprint loses out here, being a little bit thicker than the others) and printing with similar speeds. When I previously reviewed the Lifeprint LP001-6 I suggested that the…

I’ve previously purchased the HP sprocket and found the Zoemini to be superior quality. All my shots came out orange with the sprocket, I even returned for a new one but had the exact same issue. No orange with the Zoemini though! FYI the printer also works with other zinc paper brands, but don’t expect the quality to be as good! Using the Canon brand gives the best results. For Android users the setup is a bit tricky. I can only get the app and printer connected if I use NFC, it simply won’t c connect through a regular Bluetooth connection. I think this could be made a little more clear.

After one week of ownership and communications with the manufacturer, I have decided to return the product as unfit for purpose. Two more bits of info to add: a full battery will only last for about 15 pics before needing recharging. The ink on the Zink paper runs out before the paper so the last couple of photos are faded in places. Finally, the HP paper was slightly brighter (less orange) than the Canon one but it still takes an incredible amount of manipulation and trial and error to get an acceptable print. Below is my original review which had one star extra at that time which the product dies not deserve.

Just bought this printer today as I needed to print off some small-sized photographs for a family tree I am making. I was rather disappointed by its lack of colour fidelity and the difficulty of installation.

I will not take you step by step through the installation as this palaver is something you need to experience first-hand to appreciate other apps that are easier to use….

After hours of research into which mini photo printer to buy, I picked the Zoemini, knowing that prints wouldn’t be the same quality as regular photo prints, but thinking it would be fun to have photo stickers.

It was easy to use, I like the app. Some photos printed beautifully and I loved them, others took a lot of adjusting before getting a decent result, but it was all by guesswork, so it could take three prints to get one I liked, although I expected that might happen from YouTube reviews. I would have just about been ok with that, but too often, the colour red was more brown or orange, it was the one colour that lacked vibrancy, and so I decided to return the Zoemini. I was refunded very quickly, and appreciated the customer service, I’m looking forward to the next development in mini printers
