This is a really good printer, if only because there are no cartridges. Filling the ink is an absolute dawdle and so easy. The ink should last for 1000’s of pages and a refil is very economical. The print quality (Colour and B&W) is perfectly acceptable to me and it doesn’t wet the page very much. A slight dampness was all that I could feel.
I sued the supplied CD to do the set up. It was very logical and worked a dream until it came to the wi-fi. I couldn’t get it to work for two days and then suddenly it found the router and has not had a problem since. Some of the instructions talk about files that I couldn’t find and I think that they assume a greater computing knowledge than many users will have.
The only downsides are no Airprint capability (very unusual nowadays) and no double sided printing. The latter is very annoying and again surprising.
Overall, a very good purchase even taking into account the two drawbacks mentioned above.

Great no frills printer, but setting up was a little painful. Initial issue I misread one button press to initialise the ink tanks after they where filled which then caused an error to display – this was not easy to decode without a display.. Serting up with chrome book was easy as I used WiFi direct initially. For IPhone / IPads etc, This printer is not AirPrint compatible, but there is a good companion app which can be used to print photos and docs. I managed to printing from email by sharing the google cloud print device with each member of the family which the allowed them to use google mail on their iPhones to print to google cloud printer. There is an alternative method which allows you to use Epson connect which gives your printer an email address which you can use to forward emails to print. To set up the WIFi Initially connected to WiFi direct and then used a browser to connect the printer IP address directly which gives you advanced options to join your own router WiFi…

Having had a trusty Epson printer for a good many years, it was a no-brainer to opt for the same manufacturer again. My last printer, a 5000 series, proved to be such a great workhorse but sadly was showing its years and hard work. As I print a fair bit for my business, the printer bottle system seems like a perfect option for efficiency and cost saving. The set up from ink charging to connection probably took 30 minutes altogether but I do tend to be methodical. Anyways I found it very straightforward with the well explained instructions. Thank you Epson for another terrific product!

Terrible printer. Never got to use it as I could never get it to connect to wifi. I know plenty about IT and simply couldn’t get this to work at all. I tried two independent routers (neither of which has ever had an issue connecting to anything) and neither worked. It simply cannot be anything but a poorly designed or faulty wireless connector in the printer. Further, how can Epson design a printer that doesn’t work with apple products? Sheer madness.
No cable provided to try a manual connection and access the settings that could have revived this dead machine. In a world where everything connects instantly, this is just not a product at all, it’s a waste of material and time.
Tried to find tech support from Epson to be told “Sorry the service is not available at the moment. Please try again later.”
Sent back a day after receiving it. Pathetic.

Awful to link to my ultrabook or my work laptop by WiFi. It’s back in its box and will stay there until I have the time or inclination to try setting it up again. I purchased it to reduce my ink costs as this is the advantage this series of Epson printers. Maybe I should have purchased the next model up which has a small screen which may have made it easier to communicate with the printer in the set up process. I had assumed the world had progresses with WiFi so much so that I had thrown away my leads, so I’m unable to link physically to this printer. I’ve gone back to my HP 6950 which is pretty amazing but the ink was so expensive. After buying HP Ink cartridges which the printer kept telling me were empty after a few pages I have purchased non HP ink cartridges which work wonderfully. I guess in the end I will give away the Epson ET – 2711 to a family member to play with, either that or smash it up in frustration. Compared to the HP 6950 the Epson is very flimsily made. I cannot…

My Epson Eco Tank ET 2711 is brilliant. It was a little hard for me to set up so a friend did this for me. But once going it’s brilliant. It came with 4 ink bottles instead of cartridges to get me going, which should last me for a very long time. Excellent.

Moving back to Epson after years of being a converted Canon user, I had high hopes for this machine with its proclaimed low operating cost. The setup wasn’t that clear with the instruction being vague and after just a few days of using this machine all the lights started flashing and am now waiting to get a replacement from Epson since there was no software or reset fix. The trouble is I am on a very tight deadline and needed this new machine to finish up and am now stuck waiting for a replacement from Epson stating they don’t have any in stock. No indication as to when they will be able to get me a new one. So far I am not impressed with this purchase or customer service and thinking I still have time to return this machine to Amazon and go back to Canon.
