I’m almost afraid to jinx things by writing about this but (touch wood) no problems so far after 5 months of standard office use. I needed a new printer because the new 64 bit MacOS wouldn’t support 32 bit drivers, and I couldn’t get a 64 bit driver for my old Brother printer. None of the new Brother’s got great reviews, and this Epson was a Which Best Buy, so I switched brands. I did find that buying ink with a longer delivery time was MUCH cheaper, so planning ahead is worthwhile. Quality is good, both printing and scanning. Paper handling, including double-sided, has caused no problems and it’s also stable on the wi-fi. Beware, it is a heavy unit – not a 2-person lift, but definitely substantial. No regrets… so far!

Very big, heavy and awkward to deal with on oneโs own. The set up process is somewhat long winded and installs a lot of subsidiary apps and annoyingly keep asking you to send usage information back to Epson which have been turned off. Printer is fairly quite in operation and quick. Ink cartridges are small so probably could become expensive to use in the long run. Overall quite an impressive machine.

I researched a number of printers before choosing this one, but am pleased with my purchase. It’s big & heavy, so be sure you have a suitable location for it. My experience so far has been good. It is well packaged, but easy to remove from the box with the container bag. Setup was straightforward, it takes you through step by step. It is a complex device with many features, but you can get printing without knowing too much detail. It’s not clear, but A3 paper goes in the botton tray which extends & on which the cover fits. A4 paper ( or other sizes) goes in the tray above. It prints quickly, even two sided copies. Some of the features need time to get the hang of, but scanning is a breeze once the scan feature is set up on the connected PC. The manual runs to 990 pages, but the online version allows search by topic which speeds thing up. I subscribed to the Ready Print ink service which works well & seems good value for money. I wanted the ability to scan & print A3 size. Don’t buy…

Perfect for the home office. I bought this as a replacement for an earlier model, whiich I loved. It is networked to both my PC and Mac and so far (one day out of the box) it works well with both and my iPad. This one is more expensive than the previous model, but has the extra capabilities to warrant the price. I don’t use the Fax, so cannot comment on that side.

The only drawback so far is the cost of the inks. Easy to print wirelessly from the whole house from a windows laptop, windows PC or MacBook. Don’t know about iPads.

Great printer, had it for a couple of Months now, I needed it to print A3 documents off for work, we have also used it for photos which it does really well. Only downside is that I didn’t realise if you need to print A3 then the paper tray does stick out the front as it doesn’t go all the way in, fortunately a cover is supplied to hide the paper and it still sits fully on a 600 deep desk with no overhang.

I bought this printer to upgrade from my previous one, print quality is excellent but you have got to learn how to use it to get the best results. It has a few quirks to get it to do what you want, but overall it’s an excellent printer. It’s very big though and I was surprised at it’s size, so beware if you have only got limited space.
Amazon Customer –
Having previously ordered a HP Smart printer (and sending it straight back) I was blown away with how fast and straightforward the set up for this printer was. But…fast forward a few weeks and every time I’m in the office I have to switch it on and off again and reenter the wifi settings. Also – there doesn’t seem to be any customer service available so you are pretty stuck if your query falls outside of their pre-recorded ‘how to’ videos…like for example the second paper cassette can be set as A3 but the A3 paper doesn’t fit?! Go figure!
Also – for scanning to email you need IP address/ host details/ dental records and blood type to set this up…..painful and I’ve given up!
Will I ever find a printer that just works? The saga continues….
