If you’re in a quagmire of confusion and just don’t know what to do about buying and replacing your analogue sound system because you’ve got half your music on iTunes – a quarter is on cd, the rest on vinyl and zillions of play lists all over the internet but you want to just listen to stuff with the great sound of a good stereo but don’t have ยฃ100s to spend on a system that you’re not sure will be the right type – buy this! Its ace – dance like nobody’s watching…

This little product has revolutionised my music listening. After standing dormant for two years due to the hassle of replacing broken cd players and poor accessibility, I can now stream music through my surround sound system and – despite Neil Young’s claims to the contrary – it sounds fantastic, as well as being so easy and convenient.
Who would have thought back in the 1970s, when I was desperately scrambling to tape the top 20 from a badly-tuned radio onto a wobbly basf or agfa cassette, that one day I could have access to all the music I could ever want, with sound I could only dream of, through an electronic signal from a tiny, hand-held device?! It’s like something out of Star Trek!

Firstly, there aren’t as many of these to choose from as one would think. A Bluetooth receiver that’s mains powered and converts your hi-fi equipment to your device without coloration of the music. Unobtrusive and great value for money. I used short length RCA phono to phono to connect rather than the supplied lead (although that worked perfectly well).
The only drawback (and I’m being picky here) is that an on/off switch would be good.
The reason being that the connecting signal is so strong, the gadget homes in on a paired device which can interfere if your device is already being used through some other portable speakers for example.
I’ve got round this by plugging the unit into a single separate power point which I power on as required. I’ve got three of these which I’ve used to ‘up-grade’ each hi-fi system. To buy separate Bluetooth amps would have cost me hundreds of bucks. A no-brainer as they say.

Huge problems with this device due to the way the Bluetooth works. Itโs greedy. It will steal the Bluetooth connection from any other device, so Iโll be listening to headphones on the other side of my home, or outside even, and then the connection will suddenly drop because this device has stolen it.
Even worse, through trial and error Iโve determined that this device causes interference between all my other Bluetooth audio devices! My phoneโs connection to speakers or headphones would constantly be breaking up until I turned this device off. It wasnโt paired even… just switched on.
If youโre using it as intended, itโs great. Just unplug it when youโre not using it. Also, the power supply burnt out after about a year.
As such, even though it works well, I canโt recommend it.
Update: I wrote this review about a year ago, and the seller just emailed me offering me money to take this review down. I will not, as it was an honest review of a poor quality product.

So small yet great quality. I’ve got this going into a truly top flight system and it sounds really good.
It doesn’t colour the sound or affect the dynamics. If the input source is good then the output is too. I have been thinking about a Bluetooth adapter for a while but I didn’t think they would be any good. This is excellent and well priced. Set up is simple; just plug in, press the button on the top, and pair your device.

This is a superb product. Plug it into your Hifi amplifier and all the music you have on your phone can be heard in glorious stereo quality. The connection is great from the phone. This is the best thing I’ve used/seen/heard to bring your stereo in the 21st century.
The pairing between phone and the Esinkin is instant – oddly enough it’s something that’s great but can be bit of pain. While the Esinkin is turned on, your iphone will pair to it over and above any other bluetooth connection you may have. If you turn the connection off on your phone (perhaps to link to another bluetooth unit) it will instantly re-pair back to the Esinkin. You have to physically power off the Esinkin to allow your phone to connect and work with anything else. It’s not the end of the world by any means but it took me about two days to work out what was happening.
On the plus side, the moment you turn your stereo on and the Esinkin is powered on as well you can use your phone to stream and don’t have to…

This is a fantastic little device. I hooked it up to an ancient 1980s hifi for my garden office and have perfect Bluetooth signal and sound. Very good value.

This is the kind of small, simple and well thought out product that I can really like.
The footprint is small, but not so small that it’s a fiddle to setup or use, as the (back) or the unit that the input for power, one/twin RCA (left / right) audio and a 3.5mm (AUX) connections.
With the box containing the (UK) power supply and a 3.5mm to RCA cable, there’s pretty much everything that you could want to get you up and running.
Connect up, with your preferred leads (I used RCA to RCA, using my own cable), power up the unit and search from you Bluetooth source.
The ‘top’ has a single function button, that you press to activate the Bluetooth. This is easily identified from the blue ‘glow’ of the light that’s set into the base.
One tap was all it took to get this paired, and I was away and running; with my music streaming through to my stereo (an older system, that didn’t have native Bluetooth).
The quality seems to me, to be spot on. The unit looks to be well made, the instructions (and…
