Unfortunately this product failed to work on 2 separate high end laptops. These laptops do not have 5 Ghz wifi cards. I was within 5 feet of the router and this dongle fails to connect properly 90% of the time. Secondly when it does occasionally connect the signal is barely 1 bar of strength which makes browsing impossible. It is unfortunate that poor quality equipment and builds like these still make it onto Amazon. Please avoid and spend a little bit more for a quality product.
Very frustrating product and wasted time trying to get it working. All other devices in the home connect without problems to my wifi.

I pay for 150Mbps/150Mbps (although they deliver 160Mbps instead, and they are aware of that). As you can see in the speedtest, there isn’t much loss there. With the ethernet cable I get >160Mbps constantly, while over Wi-Fi I get >150Mbps. There is only one wall in the way, and then about 10m walking in a single direction between my desk and the router.
Now, for the problem other people might have. My old Wifi Dongle is 2.4GHz only, and due to the huge amount of interference from neighbor’s access points, I couldn’t get more than 60Mbps during peaks, and about 45Mbps on average. I bought this one, but instead my speeds dropped to peaks of 50Mbps and averages of probably 30Mbps. I was using an old router from 2016 (belonging to Hyperoptic, my ISP) that got here when the previous tenant signed with them. If you logged in to 192.168.1.1, you could see it offered 2.4GHz and 5GHz. But that was a lie! It didn’t offer 5GHz after all. There was a problem with my router, and Hyperoptic sent…

The dongle arrived quickly and, on inserting into my Windows 10 laptop (whose built in WiFi is getting a bit unreliable), it worked immediately without any further driver installs.
I visited the Speedtest website and my download speed was 109MB (see attached image) so it works at least that fast.

My Grandson’s desktop is not wireless and I have been using a power line adapter. Having upgraded to fibre optic to try and keep his speed high for his x box & computer games , I had fair success but occasionally the internet would drop out when he was in the middle of a game, catastrophe!!
Since installing this little dongle, which wasn’t too difficult even for an over 70, I have had better speed with no disconnections and may it long continue.Who would have thought that such a little thing could bring so much satisfaction!

This was purchased to replace a failing internal WiFi card on SWMBO’s W10 laptop. Despite warnings on the documentation about needing to install drivers, it worked straight out of the box. Be warned that the CD that ships with the drivers is a mini CD so not compatible with slot load drives. The dongle sticks out about 1.5-2cm from the USB port so may get knocked, but it’s less than most memory sticks. It has a small blue LED (why are they all blue these days – what did we do before the advent of blue LEDS?) for showing network activity. We have two wireless APs in the house so I can’t really comment on what it’s like as distance from the AP starts to increase. I’d guess that the lack of an external antenna may become an issue, but for our situation, it isn’t a problem. Shipping (Amazon Prime) was exemplary. Ordered Saturday, delivered Sunday. The cost was around ยฃ13 and represented pretty good value in my book. It works.

I am running windows 10 on an HP pavilion which has been refusing to connect to the internet. However, it picked up the dongle immediately. I did not need to load the disc and I was back on the net in a couple of minutes. I am using my laptop constantly and have had no problems at all. I would recommend this item as an excellent product at a very reasonable price.

The AC600 wifi dongle arrived securely packaged and undamaged.
The dongle connects to any unused usb port on the computer.
The next step is to insert the driiver cd into the dvd drive and when the installation screen appears click on install driver.
Once the drivers are installed click on finish and restart your computer.
On restart a green bar icon will appear in the bottom right system tray.
Left click on this icon and it will take you to the wifi networl configuration menu which is very simple to set up.
Having set up this type of dongle before I have found the AC600 the easiest one to install, the whole thing was set up in a matter of minutes.
I would highly recommend this product.

MAC addresses are supposed to be unique so that multiple devices can coexist on the same network. All three of these wifi dongles had the same very odd MAC address. When I plugged the second device in, the first stopped working (and so did the second), and the same happened with the third. Manufacturing fault? Perhaps, but it was no good for me, so I sent them back for a refund.
