My dogs have been eating Harringtons Lamb & Rice, bought locally, for the last 4-6 months fine, decided to try ordering it on Amazon Subscribe & Save (saving about 20p per kilo) and neither dog would touch it. This food was clearly not fresh and not worth eating. From now on I will be making the sacrafice and buying it fresh from my local petshop.
***UPDATE*** After reading MANY other reviews I’ve come to the conclusion that this is not a Harringtons problem. This food, for the most part generally gets great reviews, and my dogs usually love it… proved by the fresh bag bought from Morrisons that was devoured like it was going out of fashion. This is clearly an Amazon sourcing issue. The food is clearly being sourced from various suppliers, most are legit and selling a genuine product, but some suppliers are clearly tampering with the contents of the bags, swapping the food for something cheap and nasty.
Amazon SERIOUSLY need to investigate this before someones dog (fur child)…

My dog loves this food & its mind on hos very sensitive stomach. He has had no gastro problems since i started him on this brand & im happy with the variety of flavours on offer.
My main concern with my most recent delivery however, is the completely unnecessary & wasteful packaging. I usually have my deliveries come in a grey sack & even a few times with just a sticker on the bag of food. Im happy with this, in fact, just the sticker would be sufficient. This delivery though, the packaging was excessive & unjustifiable. I understand & appreciate the sentiment of it & that the air bags are recyclable but there was 187 of them in the box that was already unnecessary.

This food was recommended by our vet when our 9 year old Golden Retriever kept suffering from severe stomach upsets. He has been on this food for a few months now – wanted to make sure first! Not a sloppy poo in sight since and no more grumbling tummy noises. Everyone is happy again.

My 4 year old rescue dog has eaten this food since she was 5 months old and even though she has an extremely sensitive stomach has thrived on it.She also has a little wet food alongside but all her nutrients are met by this dry food.It works out at excellent value purchased on subscribe&save option.can not fault it

As a relativly new dog owner, i am accosted with around 400 million different foods, and , this can be rather confusing….
All i know is, i do not like the idea of most high street common brands, like pedigree chum, ect ect, or super cheap rubbish, with multi coloured kibble with stupid dye in it…. so i spotted this.
Looked basic enough, with the few key points i mentioned, and is a big bag, will last my little girl quite a while, i think
After feeding her this,. for a few days, her poo’s got better, as when i got her, her poos were rather liquidy, and runny, abd sge gave wind quite a lot, so after eating this stuff for a few days, her number 2’s are now a heck of a lot easier to pick up in a bag, i will tell you that much 🙂
She seems to enjoy it, as much as almost anything else, but its kind of hard to tell with my girl because she isn’t greedy 🙂
But as i rehomed her, took her in, she has been growing her hair back, and settling in, ect, and eating this stuff for 3 weeks or so…

~ORIGINAL REVIEW.~ Both of our DALMATIANS clear their dishes of Harringtons “SALMON & POTATO ” dry food, at EVERY meal. Then they check each other’s bowls for any missed crumbs. ‘Suitable for all ages’, 2 & 7 years in our case. Weight & Muscle maintained. Lovely Coats. Firm stools. Both thoroughly enjoy it & within a week of changing their diet to this……’Silent Stink Bombs’ are thankfully now a thing of the past. If you have a dog you will most probably have experienced them at some time or another.
~~NOW JULY 2020 & Have tried a few DIFFERENT VARIETIES/FLAVOURS of HARRINGTONS dry dog foods over the past 2 years, (always gradually phasing in new flavour over 10 days) so thought I would update review, incase you are considering a change of variety too.
Our VETs always comment on how Healthy & Fit our 2 Spotty girls are (now aged 5years & 10years.)
We find that a change in flavour every 3-5 months is excitedly enjoyed & avoids them from ever getting fed up of a certain flavour. (I…

We bought the 18kg bag. This is not Harringtons!! Immediately noticed the smell wasn’t right and the pellets looked different.
We bought a store bought bag of Harringtons to compare them and it’s cheap nasty food being sold as Harringtons.
Please don’t buy this! Amazon need to investigate!
