Buggy software
Picture is very good from Virgin Media TIVO box and pc attached via HDMI
Inbuilt apps though seem to crash a lot
Prime was fine , netflix was fine , you tube fine , then set up iplayer and it crashed all over the place
Tried updating Firmware
Am keeping TV and am happy with it as I get all my services through the VM box or attached PC
Only had it for a couple of hours and had to factory reset it twice
Will update after I have had it longer and done a bit of googling
Software update has fixed all issues five stars
Unfortunately the TV failed with 10 days of the warranty to go , my friend has one and its still going strong so might be a one off
As it was in warranty , after a few emails and phone calls I was able to return it and received a full refund
Would I buy another one ? probably yes as I would also receive another 2 year warranty

My 10 year old Panasonic 49โ plasma was starting to look a little jaded. Some burn-in marks mainly from kids tv shows and the sound (mainly speech) was atrocious. The final straw came when we had an electricity smart meter fitted and noticed a spike in usage every time we switched it on. A quick look on the rear info panel showed it used nearly 500W, which meant we were using about ยฃ150 of electricity per year running it. That also explained why the room was like a sauna once itโd been on a short while. I decided that this HISENSE, low energy, 50โ budget 4K would be a suitable upgrade so went ahead and ordered – whilst keeping my fingers crossed that I didnโt get one with a damaged screen as mentioned on more than a few previous reviews. Anyway, it arrived without a scratch and took no more than a few minutes to get up a running. My Virgin TiVo automatically adjusted to 4K output and I signed into Prime Video, YouTube and Netflix via the TVโs own app list. I then tried out…

I have been using this 50inch Hisense 4K UHD TV for a few days now, and have listed below *some* of my experiences with it (there is a lot more I could say about it but I don’t think I need to).
Physical features
The rear of this TV is rather ‘plasticky’ and looks cheaply constructed. The HDMI, USB etc connections protrude from the internals of the TV through holes in the plastic rather than being properly integrated into the casing.
The feet on this TV are rather slim & pointed. When properly attached, they give the appearance that the TV is standing on Stiletto heels. Given that the feet are so far apart, it leaves the whole thing feeling precariously wobbly.
GUIDE, Channel List & Recording
The GUIDE is way too spaced out. The channel number/logo takes up about 1/3rd of the screen width, leaving only enough horizontal space to show 1 to 3 forthcoming programmes. And the height of the programme bars is so big that you can only see 5 channels at a time without scrolling up/down. When…
