I expected the mains plug to be UK standard but it came with a European plug. After going round in circles with customer services on messenger I was told the printer is only supplied with a European plug!!! Seems a bit silly to me

Since I read a lot of reviews about installation on here, I was afraid it would take me quite a while to figure it out myself, as I’ve never installed a printer before. BUT it was so so easy, got it done in under 30 mins.
It’s printing and scanning a variety of qualities, it does tend to be very slow at 1200 dpi, but there’s always the option to lower to 300-600 dpi and it works very well. For all my work docs it’s very good, not sure how it would be with printing photos however, not something I intend to try.
Prints both colour and B&W, connects well to the internet and to my phone/laptops. Had it for a week of intensive printing and so far I’ve been absolutely happy with this purchase!

This was incredibly easy to set up and I was dreading it looking at the reviews. It might be worth noting that I did it via my android phone and I’m wondering if people who used their computer or other phone models were the ones who maybe struggled. It’s exactly what we were looking for for occasional printing. You don’t really think you need a printer until you really need one! It is very simple to use and handy to have. My daughter is wanting some A4 posters printing so I’ve ordered some satin paper for this and I’ll update once we’ve given that a go.

This printer is similar to an older one I had. It is fairly basic and does what it says on the box. For home use it seems great.
The main bugbear is that it is potentially difficult to set up.
To connect with the WiFi you really need to connect via an HP apt. For most that is easy though it is slow.
For me it was near distaer. My ipnone is so old that it doesn’t have the memory to install the apt. I tried through my lap top but MS apts are barred I tried my iphone and pc for other ideas such as YouTube with no success. I finally borrowed a newer iphone and the set up was completed. However, it does take time. It is not going to be done in 5 minutes
I tried it out and it works. I think the ink cartidges won’t last long though

Wifi setup for this printer is dependant on an app on your android or i-phone.
it’s easy enough to install the app of course, but the adding the printer to your network is a *chore*
When it’s not going as you’d expect there’s no documentation – just the support print outs that you can get from the printer – the instructions there are straightforward – but in my case didn’t work.
When I eventually managed to connect using wi-fi direct… I repeatedly got communication errors and was still unable to print.
Online support via the HP virtual assistant was so frustrating and not at all helpful in my case.
Definetley would not recommend this printer unless you have patience far in excess of mine.
Update:
It appears the problem is the printer doesn’t support WPA2 for Wi-Fi connection. Can’t find a definitive answer on tech specs on hp site, but I was able to connect to the printer easily when I used my phones WiFi tethering (which allows WPA). My router doesn’t allow WPA, only WPA2, and I can’t…

The installation instructions were minimal as they rely upon an app to provide all the information. Even for someone who is fairly IT literate if the installation met a snag it was fairly difficult to resolve. On my installation the app picked an earlier version of an HP deskjet that I had used even though I had tried to uninstall all the software. The method of removing this rogue printer was not easily apparent and it took two of us over an hour to find the solution. I found that the online instructions were insufficient and need more clarification. Once installed the printer has worked well so far.

I have just received this printer today and found it really easy to set up. I am very happy with the quality of the print, its slightly slower than my last printer but that is fine for me. If you want a straight forward, easy to set up printer that is easy to use, I wholly recommend this printer. The cartridges too seem good value as well.

This printer looks good. It is, however, a bit difficult to set up the wifi connectivity. To do so you have to download the HP Smart app. Once this is done you need to go through the process of recognising your printer and installing it. This printer will only connect to a router via 2.4ghz wifi. It does not support 5ghz. so if your router only works on 5ghz it will not be able to connect to your network. Also if your router has dual band 2.4ghz and 5ghz you will need to partition the bands so that they work independently of each other. This is pretty complicated and I was not able to do this to use the wifi functionality of this printer. The other issue is that the printer does not come with a USB connection so if you cannot connect it wirelessly you will need to buy a lead to connect an HP printer to the USB in your computer/laptop. The HP printer does not have USB or LAN connectivity so you will need a specific connector for the HP printer that goes directly to the USB on your…
