  1. Amazon Customer

    So then Amazon.co.uk
As a very loyal customer, who spends heaps of money with you every year for many years now… I buy this HP Envy Photo 7130 in January 2018. Started to use it from about March 2018 for the occasional printed page throughout the year. January 2019, I fit a new genuine HP 303XL print cartridge (twin pack £53) only to find out that the printer was meant for the USA market… even though a UK plug lead was supplied. How do I know this? four hours of trying to get the printer to accept the new pink cartridge, two calls to HP Support in Romania… and the only way to fix the problem is to let someone in another country have remote access to my computer??? Amazon.co.uk – you are selling items unfit for use in the UK… To say that I am angry is a understatement… This is bad enough but you also hide customer service numbers so I can call you? Wow… you should be ashamed of yourselves!!!!

One expects an element of product quality, resilience, good design and reliability from HP – clearly many experience great things!
however on this ocassion, the HP Envy Photo 7830 has let me down in all respects.

The colour control panel is fiddly, not very sensitive and not accurate. I have average fingers (not sausage sized digits!). Each screen interaction takes a number of attempts and ‘dabs’ to either hit the right icon option and or activate that option. I’ve had better success using a cheap rubber ended stylus.

Wireless connectivty is the biggy for me and i suspect many others too, thinking of buying similar models.
My experience of the 7830 is as poor as it gets.

    1. the device is regularily in an offline state for my apple and windows devices trying to connect.
    2. trying to re establish a connection is an obsolute trial – I’ve given up on numerous ocassions
    3. The router sees and assigns an IP address, however my devices fail to see and or interact with it on the home private…

  3. Mr Graham Jones

The printer is very neat, and hooked up to my wifi with no problems. I was very impressed with the quality of the printing – even though it is a pretty cheap printer, it prints photos on photo paper which look pretty professional (certainly good enough for a photo frame when done on glossy photo paper – which has its own seperate convenient tray. It comes with 4 month free HP Instant Ink trial – which you should definitely do, but you can extend it to 7 months free ink with the following codes. 1st enter my refer a friend code for an extra month (I get an extra month too) lJm2m and then get an extra 2 months with the code 2MONTHSDJUK . They do all work together if you do them in that order.

Having used HP Instant Ink for many months now I thought I would share my thoughts on the service. Initially I was very sceptical of a system whereby the printer automatically reorders ink for you. What I didn’t realise is how it has transformed how we use the printer as a family (2 adults, and…

I object to having to give this useless ‘photo printer’ one star, but I could not write a review otherwise.
It was bought as a present and opened for the first time today.
Can not set it up wirelessly or manually.
The display has been ‘calibrating the printer’ for over 2 hours and it still at 0%.
Useless instructions, cheap and nasty paper tray.
I am ashamed and embarrassed that I have just given somebody a present that will not work and there are 3 of us, all very experienced with computers, trying to sort it out.
    DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
