Useless piece of kit as apps CANNOT be save on to the SD card even though it’s advertised as expandable storage.
I purchased this for my son’s Christmas and after downloading a few apps internal storage is full. Huawei have removed ability to move apps to SD Card citing it as unsecure – effectivly fine for watching Netflix etc browsing Facebook but not fit for anything else extremely dissapoinred total waste of money!

For the £140 I paid, this is hands down the best tablet on the market at this price point. The screen is crisp and it’s very snappy to use. I have noticed a few negative reviews complaining about the inability to install apps to external storage such as an SD card. I have found if you install an SD card before installing any apps, and set the tablets default storage to the SD card – most of the apps I’ve installed will put a fair bit of their data on the card. As an example, I’ve installed two games with are at least 1.5gb each ( Baulders Gate & Icewind Dale ). But when looking at the storage, they only use about 40mb each of the internal storage and store the rest on the SD. OF course, when installing the apps, you have to give them permission to use your storage. In total, I’ve installed 14 gb of apps on my T5, and these apps collectively only use 4.5gb of my local storage.
In a nutshell – don’t be put off by the T5 lacking the ability to move apps to the SD card completely. It…

I’m rediculously impressed by this tablet, I had to buy something the replace a dead laptop asap so decided I’d try this route instead of something like a dell xps which I’ll probably buy next year, I hooked up a little Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and put a cheap folding case on and it gives pretty much the same functionality aside from being android not windows. It’s super fast opening emails and apps, sound and picture is good enough to watch a movie, build quality and feel of it is very nice. Only downside I’ve come across so far would be having to use a little key like the iPhone/ iPad sim tool to access the memory card, I’m not too fussed about hot switching so not an issue for me. I really wanted something with a stylus but from what I could see would need to spend 3-4 times as much so this was a no brainer.

For the first few hours of using the Huawei MediaPad T5 10, i was quite pleased with it. However, I very quickly began to realise that:
a) the Huawei implementation of Android Oreo 8.0 was so restrictive, with major features missing, that it was far too limiting for daily use (except perhaps for watching movies)
b) performance was good, but not nearly as fast as was implied from the product description
The ONE major omission from the Android implementation on Huawei MediaPads that, in the end, compelled me to return this tablet to Amazon, was the fact that you CANNOT move installed Apps to an inserted microSD card! Yes, you heard me correctly – if you buy a microSD with the intention of ‘expanding’ the storage space on the device, then it won’t allow you to move Apps and their data to the microSD. You can, of course, put your own files on the microSD such as photos, music and movies, but NOT apps or their data. So this means that after installing a moderate number of Apps from the…

The manufacturer appears to have deliberately prevented owner from moving apps to sd card. They have to be held in systems limited internal memory. This is disgraceful. If I had known I would not have bought this tablet. Please be warned.
