Got this to replace my Google Nexus tablet that i’ve had for a number of years. Similar size and weight although this one seems more square than rectangular.
Had it up and running straight out of the box, the dock was a requirement and works well for charging (less wear and tear on the USB port). The screen is a lot better than the Nexus but it is a lot more modern device. The sound is a whole new level, very crisp and i can hear things that i didn’t before in some apps and games.
I use it for browsing the internet, email and a few time-wasters. It performs well in all i use it for so far.
Downsides: I don’t really prefer the metal case to a ‘rubberised’ more grippy type finish. The device updated itself to the latest version of android it can run comfortably and changed all the personalisations I had made in the few days between receiving it and the update.
Accessing local files has changed with Chrome (the browser the tablet has installed as default) but i figured that out.

This tablet is compact, slim and perfectly capable for my entertainment purposes, includinng YouTube and Audible. Build quality is excellent, and battery life exceptional. Once out of the box, and connected to the internet, it immediately updated itself to Andoid 10.
The screen is acceptable, being HD, though the sound through the twin speakers is a bit thin, even with Dolby. Since I use bluetooth earbuds or a connection to the car, this really isn’t a problem. This replaces an older Lenovo tablet, and I have not been disappointed.

I bought a cheaper tablet that was marketed as 3gb ram, which it was proven not to be the case. Bought this on the bounce and delighted. It is a second tablet, occasional browsing etc, but it is rapidly replacing my old Samsung Tab A 9.7 tablet.
Screen is sharp and vibrant
Start up is quick
Loading is nice and fast
Battery life is EXCELLENT
Advertised as able to accept 128gb card, but I popped a 200gb card in and it worked fine.
Very light
Cannot think of any negatives so far, maybe paying extra for the ‘smart dock’ is a waste of £10, but it gives you the option of a digital picture frame.
Recommended product.

My experience with this tablet was both good and bad. The good is very good, excellent screen, responsive to touch, the sound for a tablet this small is very good because it has two side speakers. If you only want to check email and watch YouTube, Netflix and listen to paid for music etc. you won’t have any problems.
And the bad (Considering I have been in IT since the 1980s) and still had difficult to overcome problems:
I wanted to put my own music onto an Micro SD card and there my troubles started. My Windows computer could see the Smart Tab M8 but could not see any files or folders on the M8. So it was not a case of “drag and Drop” unfortunately. I tried using a Micro SD Adapter in Windows and putting my music on it and then putting said SD card into the M8. Then connecting the M8 to the computer only to find nothing had changed. Windows still could not see any of my music files on the tablet. The manual that came with the tablet was absolutely useless. I went online and…

I wanted a tablet again, mainly to play games on and watch videos. And for that it is very useful. However be aware the camera is not top quality so if you are getting this tablet based on photography you will be disappointed. But for genuine use and the price I’d say its good. The screen saver part is awkward though, I clicked i didn’t want Google assistance now there’s a black screen when it’s charging not pictures, at the moment. But I’d say the battery is very good. The speakers for its size are definitely great quality. 🙂

I brought this tablet to display a video doorbell . It also had to be able to run Tidel via my Heos system. The problem with both Nest and Google home displays is, I believe you can’t add any apps.
I did have a Nest doorbell but displays via the app on a Android tablet are poor.
So ….I purchased a Google door bell and the home and the nest apps work fine on this little tablet. I have a live video display running all the time. It really works very well. Heos also is no problem.
I possibly will not use it for anything else but for what I want it’s perfect.
Highly recommend..

Advertised as a ten inch screen, I was disappointed to find it only has an eight inch one. I would have returned it if there was a ten inch one in the same price bracket. Apart from that , it’s great for my needs- general browsing, movies, Spotify (bluetooth to hi-fi obvs.)
Feels fairly robust. I would prefer it to be less shiny for holding easily and has a very reflective screen.
