I bought this for my home office so can’t comment on it for gaming. It’s a great second screen and for the price I’m really pleased with it. If I had to be uber picky the text could be a little sharper, but it doesn’t impact working and as it’s a 24inch screen for under £100 I actually expected it to be worse.

It was really easy to set up with my MacBook Pro as I have a model that has an hdmi connection. I made the mistake of buying a separate hdmi cable, but there was actually one in the box.

I bought it thinking it had speakers but I can’t work out how to stop it turning the sound off on my my laptop when the two are connected, which means I can’t use it as an additional screen on video calls. I’m sure this is me and not the monitor though!

I am reviewing this monitor based on its value for money – if you are expecting a pin sharp beautifully smooth screen then you are looking at the wrong end of the price spectrum! So, based on it being a £100 monitor this is excellent. It’s light, decent build and picture quality is very good. The settings menu is very easy to navigate with the joystick at the bottom of the screen and plenty of options to get the picture how you want it! I had the 24 inch version and there is lots of screen for your money and I like the 16:9 ratio, the text is not pin sharp like that of an apple 4K Retina display so don’t compare it, however as a second screen to your laptop this is a brilliant addition. It supports HDMI and VGA, has a 3mm plug in for sound and the HDMI lead comes in the box.
I’ve read reviews it is not sturdy on the stand – this is incorrect!! It comes supplied with 2 screws which fit it firmly to the monitor and you are able to tilt it to your desired angle. It sits pretty low on…

Excellent quality external monitor I’m using for work. Easy to attach to a monitor stand and very lightweight. My eyes don’t feel tired after looking at this all day! The only challenge I’ve had so far is I couldn’t get Netflix to play over the external monitor. I would plug in the HDMI and my computer screen and monitor screen showed a black screen with a pause button but the movie would be playing because I could hear it through my laptop speakers. I’d unplug the HDMI and it would show up in full color on the laptop. Then I’d plug in the HDMI again and it would go black again on both screens. Not sure that the issue is with this monitor though. Could very well be an issue with Netflix or my Chromebook because YouTube and other videos are working fine on the external monitor and the quality of the video is very good. I’ll update the review if I find out this was related to the monitor but assuming it’s not I’m giving it 5*

-75Hz refresh rate for less than £100
    -24inch panel
    -VESA mount
-Joystick for OSD is very easy to use and convenient
    -Tilt adjust

-Not amazing image or colour quality (good enough for me though)
    -Bezels are far too thick
-Rear shield for plugging in hdmi and power cord appears not be properly secured on my model and pushes into the monitor when I insert cables
-No height adjust and plastic construction doesn’t look great, but does feel pretty sturdy

For £90 it’s a bargain for anyone who wants a decent monitor for gaming or general computer use. 75Hz and freesync at this price are hard to come by, and the cons listed are inevitable considering what you get for the price.

Second one of these monitors purchased and both work great with dual screen setup. Monitor is very lightweight and image quality is excellent on HDMI and ok on VGA with a decent quality cable (although much better with HDMI as can use more features).

Only slight niggles are that it doesn’t feel hugely sturdy (although other than the feel it does actually seem fine for that) and may be better with DVI instead of VGA for second input. Don’t use for gaming so cannot really comment on that but seems to work well with high res animation development.

    LG 24MK400H 24 inch.
    TN Monitor (1920 x 1080) .
    75hz using HDMI.
    75hz using HDMI to DP.
Comes with power brick stand and HDMI cable in the box.
One button joystick nub for setting is simple and works.

Have had LG monitors in the past and loved them this one however was absolutely rubbish. Sent it back straight away as the quality made it unusable. Was bought as a warehouse deal however it did not specify bad damage to the screen this monitor should not have been sold. Even without the damage though monitor was supremely disappointing. LG makes fantastic screens, but this isn’t one of them.

Just got this today. Was delivered very quickly. Easy to set up. The brightness was up full for some reason but i sorted it out with the easy and intuitive controls and soon had a better picture. My xbox one recognised the new monitor and made some adjustments of it’s own. I played fo76 briefly and I was impressed with the difference in quality when compared to my TV screen. The TN screen is what I expected in terms of viewing angles, but I’m using it for gaming so no issues. The colour is good for a TN and the blacks make a sharper image possible. 1ms response is awesome. Can’t complain. I’m a happy Gamer 👍
