Have had the TV for a month as an upgrade from an old Sony HD TV without smart functions. The quality of the build is good and the unit looks good. The picture quality is good (seeing 4k for the first time takes some getting used to), but can be a little dark in some circumstances despite the range of picture options available.
The smart functions are pretty good, but would have benefited from the following:
– Additional satellite input enabling the recording of one channel whilst watching another (a function my Humax foxsat HDR box has)
– Lack of catch-up TV services. Whilst the system supports BBC iPlayer, Netflix, Amazon prime etc, it doesn’t have (nor can you install) ITV Hub, All 4, Demand 5, etc. Which are all available on earlier LG smart TVs. Although I can plug in a Chromecast to get these apps…. It defeats the object of having a Smart TV.
My favourite features are:
– 4K – just wow!!
– Magic Remote (not included with the TV, but worth the extra ยฃ25) and excellent Android app…

For broadcast TV, Netflix and Prime Video this TV is great with excellent picture quality. However, if you want to use ITV hub, ALL4 or any catch-up service other than iplayer then you will be sorely disappointed as these essential services are not compatible with this TV, the apps exist in the LG content store but simply cannot be downloaded and installed. Other less mainstream apps such as NFL Gamepass also exist in the LG content store but are also not compatible.
If you’re looking for a simple broadcast receiver with a few extras then this is good, but if you’re looking for a truly smart TV then this dumb box is not for you.

OK I found it right near the bottom of the ‘About’ info after the TV arrived. but who these days buys a TV and expects to find no remote as you have to buy it separately.

I spend hundreds on a TV and you can’t even include a ยฃ20 remote that probabbly costs you a couple of quid to make
OK may seem like petty winging but really.
I can honestly say I bought LG because I like their products. Had I spotted this at time of order … ie MAKE IT MORE PROMINANT on the product description, at least i could have ordered the remote at the time or chosen a TV that actually includes the required remote
I now have to wait a couple of days to get the remote and hope I have ordered the right one

Got the 2021 model and it has all the catch up apps (unlike the 2020 model).
BBC, ITV, 4OD, Channel 5, Netflix, Prime, Disney+.
Picture is greatโฆ controller is a tad irritating as it has a laser pointer thing, just takes getting used to.
Very easy to set up via smart phone too!

Picture is good, though be prepared to get into the menus to find a setting you like. Amazon 4k Firestick and Xbox X both look good through it. Being an IPS panel the viewing angles are good, which is what put us off a more expensive Panasonic tv as they use VA panels in some models which are notoriously poor if viewed on an angle.
Sound quality is good enough through the internal speakers, we aren’t needing to look at soundbars…but then again we don’t expect a TV to be the same as going to the cinema eithe and our kids are light sleepers.
Only negative is that no 2020 model TVs appear to have been approved for use by the UK broadcasters (BBC, ITV etc) for their streaming services – the iPlayer app is simply shown on the LG website as incompatible with this device. I’m assuming that this is a knock on of covid-19 and non-essential things getting delayed, I’m waiting for LG to get back to me on confirming this. In the interim an old 4k Firestick is doing a good job at covering this…

LG 2020 MODELS DO NOT have access to catch up TV apps such as iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4 etc.
Also the TV’s FreeSat tuner is faulty on these models, most HD channels have signal issues.
I bought a LG a while back and it had access to literally everything I needed so I didn’t need 3+ remotes lying about. That’s my idea of a Smart TV. This is not.
I’m not the best to describe how good the picture or sound is. It’s a nice looking OLED panel and heard worse overall it fits the bill. However not having basic catch-up apps and LG not making it obvious it doesn’t have them is just outrageous.
Im in two minds if I will be sending it back, unfortunately the 2019 model doesn’t have freesat (only freeview play) but has the catch-up apps. So either way I would have to by a separate box or dongle of some description.
Very disappointed.
UPDATE:- Sent back in the end and downgraded it from 3 to 1 star. While LG customer services said that they are looking into getting the catch up services though a update…
