This is a cheap TV with a nice light feature st the back – but after owning the 55” version for 8 months, where I spent everyday playing with the settings, adjusting the image, and buying external smart boxes to improve performance – I can honestly say I count recommend it.
Eventually I sold it, paid a bit extra, and bought an LG OLED – and the difference was night and day.
But, if you don’t really care about a perfect picture, don’t mind using a FireTV 4K stick , can’t afford anything more, and like the light on the back – then it’s still a solid TV for the money.
But if you want to watch movies in the best image possible – this isn’t The One for you.

I love ❤ this TV, best one I have ever owned, a top quality product from Philips and at 70in, it’s an excellent product. I would certainly recommend that if you are interested in a good all around TV, then this is the one to purchase 😀 👍.

Sorry for the long review, This is fairly positive but has a major glaring issue, which I’ll address below.
Just as a quick point, I didn’t purchase this TV from Amazon, but my darling wife did….as a early Christmas present for us both. We are both avid gamers, more than a little into movies and we feel able to give a reasonable assessment of the experience so far. Ours was the 55in model for clarity.
Now that we have had a little time to get to grips with this TV, I feel I can give you some honest and impartial feedback on the performance of this TV.
Looks and build quality:
Philips has already made a big impact in this area. At least a TV that has a actual metal stand instead of a faux metal plastic stand! Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against the plastic ones, but when higher mid tier to lower high tier TV’s with a tacky looking stand is a bit of a bug bear. If it’s plastic, fine. Just don’t paint it in a obvious fake metal effect paint.
Not only that, but the elements of…

I wouldnt recommened this TV and also the nightmare of a return with Amazon. The TV Developed a fault within 24-48hrs where a line of dead pixels appeared and the bottom of the screen didnt display properly. To make matters worse i have had a nightmare with Hermes and Amazon on the return as the item dissappeared on route back to Amazon. Still waiting for it to be resolved.

Okay so after researching online for weeks maybe even a month and not being able to commit to a tv I finally bought this tv 58” and took the plunge. Reason for sale, I dropped my Panasonic tv in a house move.
Well I am not disappointed at all. It does exactly what it says on the tin. It has a great picture quality. The sound is fantastic. I have a Panasonic sound bar which I’ve used with all my TVs but not anymore. I unplugged it. It’s not needed here.
It has lots of HDMI ports which is great as we have lots of consoles. I’ve connected mine via an Ethernet cable because it’s right beside my router but WiFi works great on it too. The range of apps available is good and I’ve really no need for my firestick anymore. I can get Kodi and downloader and all other apps from the tv. I had an issue with trying to download the Alexa app, only because it came pre installed and I didn’t realise and it doesn’t say…

I’ve had this tv for around a month and the picture quality is amazing. The ambilight I was sceptical on but it’s an amazing feature. Would definitely recommend this.
