My replacement for the Performance MX, which was a replacement for the MX Revolution
While this is much smaller, and a little sparse in the thumb area in regards to buttons, it does really well

    Uses Options Software (not setpoint)
Allows you to have a gesture button assigned.
This then allows you to press that button and move the mouse up or down or left or right to do 4 separate actions.

For example you could set the Gesture button to the First thumb button.
    Then set Up for Enter
    Down for Delete
    Left for Copy
    Right for Paste
There you have an awesomely quick way of working where a click and swipe gets you the action.

Not only that but you can assign programs their own gestures
So any 4 things that you want quick access to while having one hand on the mouse, you can

Not having a middle button on the mouse wheel itself is a little annoying – but most middle buttons are hard to press anyway so no real loss and you can have the middle button assigned to another place more convenient.

I never knew I needed this until my previous wireless mouse contracted an STD and died a couple monthd later. The loss of a mouse had destroyed me, emotionally and mentally, but mostly sexually.
Then I saw that this was on offer, and lo and behold, the item doesn’t lie. I have used it on the wooden tables, the carpet, my life, the bathroom, the road, at my uncle’s funeral, and many other fun places.
Sometimes when playing a game like CSGO it does make your hand cramp up a bit due to me being so rough and violent, but the discomfort is nothing compared to the pain of living.
    I rate 8/8.

This mouse is fabulous in the hand, versatile in the number of connection options (BT, wireless & usb), great scrolling feature, back & forward buttons, etc. The problem is the awful Options software that you have to install if you want to reprogram buttons, cos it’s an absolute disaster. The mouse was working fine, then in short order the cursor started freezing, BT connecting & disconnecting. Look at Options, device not detected, uninstall & reinstall, not detected, reboot, detected, then cursor freezes and lags – disable Options, mouse works perfectly, but no option then to assign to buttons functions that differ from default. It’s a known problem, but Logitech are apparently unable to fix it (as per forum discussion). I just got this today, have already gone thru the return steps, now in the throes of keeping it in the hope that they’ll issue an update. I love the hardware, software sucks – btw I’m on Win10 Creator’s 1709 (16299.309).
I will grant that this may all be related to…

So, it doesn’t mention this anywhere, but you cant pan with the middle button with this mouse! The middle button pushes in and out to change it from a click wheel to a smooth scroll wheel!!
This useless feature means that you cant push the middle button in to pan, which is about 50% of my mouse usage as a designer, all CAD and 3D modeling software require that you pan with the wheel button to function properly.
This has made this a complete waste of money, I physically cannot use this mouse.
There is a way around this by downloading the logitec options software, but you just have to tilt the mouse to oneside, which really doesnt work very well.
Avoid this mouse if you every need a mouse wheel scroll!! You will regret it within minutes!!

Excuse the tongue in cheek title to my review, but a prominent review left in 2018 stated that this MX Anywhere 2 Wireless Mouse was useless if you’re a designer because it hasn’t got a middle button. This is not true. If you follow the instructions and download Logitech Options, there is the option to assign the button under the scroll wheel in a number of ways, e.g. as a Middle Button (problem solved!), or as a ‘Gesture Button’ that can in turn be set to Pan in apps (making it easy to smoothly scroll in all directions) or perform different functions depending on which direction you move the mouse while holding down the button (e.g. rotation). It’s a fabulous feature.

I got this mouse for my Mac and PC. It is best to download and run Logitech Options first, and then connect your mouse for the first time. With Apple being very good at privacy protections, I had to enable ‘Accessibility’ and ‘Input Monitoring’ permissions for Logitech Options, but that was pretty straightforward.

A very lightweight and highly performing mouse, but suffers from the appalling state of Bluetooth driver stability in Windows and for some unknown reason Logitech removed the middle mouse button to allow you to freewheel scroll. What were they thinking?
On Mac, Android, and anything with decent Bluetooth mouse support, go for it, but on Windows and Linux use the unifier dongle where it works flawlessly.
Plus one star for a method of storing the dongle onboard with the mouse. Right now you have to carry it around separately.
