I personally am very sensitive to protein powders, especially those with thickeners which make you super tired and drowsy. However, the same canโt be said by this Maximuscle Promax restore protein powder. I think this is the first protein powder that I have had which doesnโt make you bloated, but still letโs you reap the same benefits. I also found this protein powder to be far mor effective than other brands I have tried, thanks to the BCCA and vitamins/minerals.
As for the taste, its like no other. I receive the strawberry flavour and must say it tastes exactly like a natural strawberry milk-shake. In fact, according to Maximuscle, real strawberries are used in this powder. I canโt wait to have this shake with some ice in the summer for a refreshing post workout recovery. Would recommend and well worth the premium. One serving is plenty, however you can take up to 3 a day (max).

This i.12kg tub will provide 32 servings, let’s say a month at one serving a day. You may decide to take more, as per the directions. IT’s described as low sugar, but as a sweetener, they have used the dreaded product called sucralose, E955, a modified form of sugar with added chlorine. It’s also rated as 600 times sweeter than sugar. Personally, I don’t like any form of artificial sweeteners; they leave a horrible taste in the mouth and prolonged use is questionable for your health.
That said this is a very pleasant product to take. The sweetness is just about bearable with 500ml of water, anything less tastes too sweet for me.
I did some calculations and found that per gram of powder supplement it has only 0.1g of protein more than 2 other well-known brands I have used. That large 28g of protein per serving is calculated with a 35g scoop serving. My other 2 protein shakes indicate a 30g scoop serving and the protein level is given against a 5g smaller serving. THe last time I used Maximuscle Promax was when I started training in the gym at 14 years old. I started training in my local gym 5 months before I was supposed to have membership as the owner could tell I was serious and committed. I used Promax and gained al ot of muscle and worked hard. School. Eating. Gym. That was my life. I abaondoned them when I realised that there were far nicer tasting alternatives out there when all the other brands came onto the scene. I think a lot of you may remember this.
I remember all the previous stuff with the owner and news etc and had brochures and I had tried PROGRAIN, PROMAX, CYCLONE, BARS, THERMOBOOST and all their product lines and remember how bad the creatine products tasted back in 2003ish. Wow. What memories.
Now the new era has some changes. Yeah they have improved the taste. The chocolate now mixes better and tastes better and I can still taste the old taste from 15 years ago in my mouth perfectly. It is astounding how you can sit there…
