If you have a sp6 don’t bother to upgrade as theres barley any difference however this is my first surface its fast beautifully built but expensive I brought mine for photo edits as I’m a pro photographer and for digital art it handles these with ease instant on helps make it feel like a tablet and it feels fast all the time only thing that let’s it down are some of the software bugs but that’s due to windows rather then the tablet and iv had it a couple of months now and there are less and less bugs if you need a portable PC were u can take off the keyboard this is the best out there

It would be the ideal piece of kit as an Illustrator if not for for ome fatal flaw – I had this laptop for almost 4 months and during that time it would crash regularly (blue screen of death) when using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Skype. Eventually, laptop just died. Wouldn’t reset. Wouldn’t charge. Dead.
Upon researching further, this is a common enough problem with the machine. Seems Microsoft aren’t the best at making durable hardware. Looking back it would overheat a lot. May have been a faulty model, but like I say, upon researching it seems fairly common!
I would not advise buying this machine , especially from Amazon. I’ve been waiting now for almost 2 weeks (to be fair, it is covid time still) and Amazon refusing a refund of £1600+ until they receive the item (Hermes have had for this time and just stuck on the ‘we’ve got it’ status).
I honestly couldn’t feel more disappointed. Its not a cheap laptop and the hardware, frankly, is awful. I’d advise against buying. Like I…

Great tablet or laptop, to be honest this the second surface pro I’ve bought. They are a good value and quality product.
I’ve recently been asked about adding RAM to the product, in short you can’t, you can add extra memory in the from of an SD card and assign apps and storage to that drive. 8gb of RAM should be sufficient for most usage including technical work (development etc) the 10th gen core i5 is faster and more efficient than a 9th gen i7 the RAM fitted is the fastest available at the time of design, as is the SSD (main hard drive).
This reduces the workload on the ram as processing is completed faster and reduces the size of the RAM required.
This is my reason for saying its good value as many similar priced items do not have the same speed or quality.
Hope this helps, also in performance reviews the Surface Pro is comparable to the macbook (if its better or not is subjective). Hope this helps.

I bought it for my wife – she’s now using a grown-up machine (she had an Android tablet before). Windows 10 has been a bit of a culture-shock for her, but given the weeks of gentle coaching, she’s beginning to appreciate the benefits. With a few more weeks, she’ll be getting even more confident (and venturing into the more powerful control it makes available).
It’s good to be able to install software that is more mature than you can get on Android machines – the scope of what you can do on the computer has gone up a large step.
Apart from that, the hardware is very good. Having the keyboard is also a big boon – just to be able to control the position of the cursor in text operations makes it all worthwhile 🙂

It’s a con. How can it be a laptop and a tablet when you have to pay EXTRA for a keyboard.
Misleading advertising and a con.

With 5 years spent with my Tab S2 and After spending weeks of deciding on my next big Tablet /Laptop. Spilt between this, the pro 6, and Tab S6 I finally decided on this. Happy with my choice, love the look, the feel and size of this. Though I would say overpriced I don’t regret my choice and i can’t get enough of this. One negative I will say is I don’t get much from the advertised battery life, bearing in mind I have alot of media usage.

As an everyday computer it does the job nicely. The screen looks great, it’s extremely portable, and it’s very responsive for average computing needs. Especially with the new Ice Lake processor in it.
However, if you’re an artist/user of Photoshop it can be very slow and has performance issues. so, as an artist I wouldn’t recommend this version of the machine, I’d go for the i7 or the 16GB version. That’s the only reason I returned it.
If you’re going to use it for light productivity, social media, and watching Netflix etc on, then it’s great.
Mr. M. Salvatori –
I received my product with the US plug power cord, and a cheap stiff UK cord outside the box, which is not the same soft material as the original.
Also once registered the device, Microsoft showed that I had less than 11 months left of warranty, so I lost one full month of warranty for no apparent reason, I do not recommend to buy from G and R Sales.
