I was using a Samsung 32inch 4k monitor before.
The picture was great but the screen refresh rate was only 60hz which I really wasn’t bothered about at the time.
That was until I accidently broke the screen.
I had an old Samsung 24inch curved gaming monitor which I was using as my second screen for my pc.
So I hooked it up and started playing warzone but I had forgot that the monitor was 120hz.
The picture was ok but playing in 120fps on ps5 was amazing.
So I decided that I wanted a bigger monitor than 24 but not as big as 32 and also wanted something that could run 120hz minimum and had a decent picture and was designed for gaming.
so after a bit of research I decided to go for the MSI 27inch.
I have Been using the monitor for a few days now and what a difference it’s made.
The picture is extremely clear and the colour is amazing.
I thought the Samsung 4k monitor was good but this just blows it out the water and it’s only HD.
And what amazed me the most is that it was only £200 😳

Sharper image than my Samsung 2k CHG70 monitor which was £800 and better colours, everything feels well built and extremely solid. No dead pixels, no ghosting, bright colours, I’m putting this all down to an very good IPS display vs VA. No fps tanking due to resolution increase. Couldn’t be more happy with this monitor.
The only thing that annoys me is why provide an HDMI rather than a DisplayPort cable because you can’t get 144hz or g sync enabled without it only freesync @ 120hz…. If the monitor wasn’t so impressive for the price I’d complain more but more than happy even at that, just a minor note for everyone to buy a DisplayPort cable.

The good points:
So this screen pixel density and refresh rate are spot on, the difference between this and a 60Hz screen is amazing.
The Bezels are fairly small and the size of the screen is perfect.
The feel of the monitor is cheap but quite sturdy
For the price, I’d say it’s ok
The bad points:
Anything that’s bright/white will be washed out, so much so that you’ll fiddle with the settings until you just feel frustrated and give up.
The screen takes that long to wake from sleep that my computer goes back to sleep before it comes on, you have you sit there wiggling the mouse for a good 25 seconds so that the computer going back to sleep doesn’t send the screen to sleep.
Autodetect on source input is useless and only really detects DP.
Overall, I wish that I would have spent more on a better monitor that could handle bright colours and actually wakes from sleep within a reasonable amount of time

I hardly ever do reviews but for this product I am taking time and doing it because this really is one of the best PS5 monitors out there!
As you know PS5 supports 4K @ 120 FPS but there are no online games that does that, yet. Only a handful of games doing 1080p @ 120 FPS but the problem is that many monitors doesn’t switch to 120hz even though PS5 games are set to run at 120 FPS.
This is a hardware issue and overcome by buying EDID emulators. No one knows which monitors will work without the emulator as there is no list. This makes the whole thing a bit of gamble.
Surprisingly this monitor does, as you can see in the picture it’s outputting 120 Hz and on 1080p this is absolutely brilliant!!!
If you have PS5 please follow these steps:
1. Go to PlayStation store and find your game, upgrade it to PS5.
2. Go into the game and enable 120 Hz (different games has different settings so need a bit of googling and YouTube).
3. Go to PS5 settings > Saved data and game app settings > game presents…

Purchased to pair up with a gaming laptop for sim racing and I am happy, but may have gone for a 24″-25″ for better pixel density, (my viewing distance is 24″) but then the FOV would not have been as good, so it was a trade off to suit the laptop’s capabilities. That said their is nothing wrong with the monitor, the colour’s are good, no dead pixels, the joystick controller is a dream to use when you are first setting it up. I am using a “User defined” setting which suits my eyes better than the option of “Racing” mode. My laptop does not support Freesync or Gsync but I have experienced no tearing with Freesync off.
I have mounted the monitor to a sim racing monitor stand so I cannot comment on how good the stand is that is included. The monitor has separate mounting points for stand which is closer to the base and a more central 100 x 100 VESA mounting point. Even though the back panel has a shaped profile the mounting area is flat and near vertical.
Very pleased.
