David Price –
OK so this was second attempt with a Netgear Nighthawk MiFi router. Initially I got the more advanced (and expensive) M2 version but I was unable to get that to work. So it was a toss-up get another M2, M1 or something else entirely, in the end went with the cheaper M1 version.
Completely different experience to previous M2. Insert SIM, battery & charge for couple of hours. Use iPhone to connect to it’s WiFi network and all was good, iPhone connected and connected onwards to internet straight away with no further intervention. It picked up the APN settings automatically something the M2 failed to do.
I was going to deducted a star because I was unable to get the Netgear App designed to manage the device to connect to it. However this isn’t essential as once set up you can log into the router through a web browser and manage it there. Just put it’s IP address (192.168.1.1) into your browsers address (URL) bar and hit enter. Once into the user interface I finished the set up there. So…

It’s hard to encapsulate the marvel that is the NETGEAR Nighthawk M6 Pro within the confines of a single review. Yet, I shall endeavour to do so.
Right off the bat, the elegance and sleek black aesthetic of the device garnered my admiration. It exudes a sense of polished robustness that I found genuinely appealing.
Setting up the device was refreshingly straightforward, a smooth process greatly assisted by the larger 7.1cm color LCD touch screen. With a few taps and a swipe here or there, my 5G router was ready to offer me ultra-fast, secure internet with speeds up to 6Gbps.
The Nighthawk M6 Pro’s performance was a delightful surprise. Avidly downloading large files, streaming high-definition content, and engaging in intense online gaming sessions, the router didn’t falter for a second. Its Wi-Fi 6E speeds up to 3.6Gbps for up to 32 devices ensured fast downloads and seamless connectivity. Indeed, this portable 5G modem came to redefine what I thought was possible in terms of mobile…

Writing this from my lodge in Talybont (Wales) connecting to the internet through my Nighthawk M1. I’m using an unlimited data EE sim which has a really good signal here. It really is simple to set-up but had a few niggles with the SIM card and the app I was told to download in the instructions tells me the Nighthawk M1 isn’t compatible with this device when installed???? The connection is good with multiple devices and I’ve been streaming Netflix in 4K with no issues. The SIM is dependant on your location so find out beforehand about signal strength. Really happy with this purchase.

I bought this to pair with my new 5g EE data SIM on my boat
It works really well and gives really high speeds over 5g mobile data
however
I suspect that the data designers and power supply designers didnโt talk to each other before the electronics were put in a box with a battery – as far as I can see the reduced performance when operating with a battery installed is because this configuration gets too hot
It isnโt possible to configure maximum performance with a battery connected
Excellent device spoiled by poor product management

I got this for my caravan and had nothing but issues with the battery life signal etc, just like the other comments. I bought an external aerial, google UC-DIRHGMI-2X5G-05L-PM. The signal issues improved where by it worked even in remote areas.
The battery was a different issue, I removed the memory card which I suspect drained the battery, this improved the life but it still the battery got HOT HOT HOT.
So I now leave it sat on the screen and the battery in the air. No more issues, no more the device telling me it needs a cooling period as it got a bit hot (yes this did happen) when on charge and in use. Works as one would expect.
I bought this for the aerial connection as I knew I would have reception issues and got lucky on the second attempt at ordering an aerial.
Should have mentioned I required adapter leads for the aerial. Search for: EWC533-1GE
Hope this helps others in the same predicament
