The older model started failing after 5 years or so. Failure mode was the bottom of the screen started a black-creeping thing, which started suddenly, then progressed over a week or so to become a real issue. So no long slow death, just a rapid reminder to replace.

As with the older model, great value for money. Non-relective and great picture quality.

The old version had been used for perhaps 8hrs a day, 24/7/365.

Would definitely seek out this product in the future, perhaps 5 yrs from now.

Great monitor for the price, I needed one for lock down and this seemed like a good option and it really was.

Great for what I do, design/branding during the day awesome for 4K films on weekends.

No lag time from the MacBook Pro to the monitor.

    Worth it

Purchased at ยฃ189.99 on a deal and the score is based on paying that price. For a 4K 28 monitor from a known brand i’m not sure you’ll find any better.

Purchased for a gaming PC and although limited to 60hz (i’m not an FPS freak) it does the job ok. Freesync works with my Nvidia RTX3070 so it’s a smooth 60FPS.

Definition of blacks is where this monitor isn’t that great, they can be washed out and the gradient between black to grey to white is defined, a downside of TN displays, other than that picture quality is good.

if you want 4K video at 60hz make sure you connect via Display port and not HDMI as they HDMI port is the old standard.

At ยฃ189.99 it’s a bargain, make your own mind up at ยฃ299 though.

This purchase was to replace my beloved Asus VE278H 27-inch, bought in 2013, which gave up the ghost recently. This replacement is a 28 inch, which may be a mistake for what I use it for – mainly office work. I have to put the monitor a long way away, about 65cms. I’m finding the screen is still a bit too big and bright to work on documents comfortably. Perhaps I should have bought the 27 in version, which I see is considerably cheaper. The 28 screen is pretty good, almost too bright, for videos and photos but the colours seem a bit pale compared to the Asus.

The monitor is excellent. I would have given it 5*.

But there is a general issue with 4K monitors I had not appreciated.

This 28โ€ monitor replaced a 27โ€ apple thunderbolt monitor of lesser resolution.

At 4K everything becomes tiny on screen and text, particularly below icons, is almost unreadable, even wearing my glasses made specifically for working on a monitor.

The only work around is to lower the resolution of the monitor in your computer settings. Itโ€™s cheaper just to buy a lower resolution monitor. It used to be possible to scale system text and icons, but no longer.

I think 4K would need at least a 32โ€ monitor, and more likely 36โ€ to really take advantage of the resolution.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.

ย Beautiful design ultra light, very big extremely recommended for movies/ videos. Good material ! It is very basic, only one HDMI and no USB port , but I only need it to project videos with my smartphone through a dongle, so it doesn’t matter. I am very satisfied with it!
I hope I’ll get the dongle soon to see how is the graphic.

I wanted this monitor to use with photoshop and Lightroom for processing my images from a Canon DSLR. I also chose it for having a USBC outlet so I can use a single cable from my MacBook Pro for charging and video. The screen quality is excellent and the bezel is very slim – although the bottom of the screen has a larger bezel – which accommodates the connections. (at the back) and the on off and power management. The stand is lovely – very easy to set up and allow to move between Landscape and portrait with a simple turn on the screen. I haven’t given it 5 stars as the USBC connection was difficult to get going – for some reason my MacBook would charge but not display without a number of reboots. It also only outputs a maximum of 65W which is below the 90W recommended for the MacBook. However, I don’t seem to have had any power issues, although I haven’t yet done any power processing on 4k video. I cannot comment on gaming – as I don’t do any!

I got this monitor while it was on offer but it was a big mistake, the monitor seems to have a black flickering issue when playing games, when playing games the screen goes to black for 2-3 seconds then comes back and there is some minor static that appears on a bit of the screen sometimes, i switched back to my old BenQ 1080p monitor that I’ve had since 2013 and all the issues were gone. For me, I don’t think I will get a HP monitor again, better to go with ASUS or BenQ. Also I tried different cables, DisplayPort and HDMI and the same issue still occured and the most annoying thing was sometimes it works for a while then it stops working again and flickers, it got to the point where it’s too much for me so I have to return it. The Monitor was OK, big and has 4K and Freesync just this issue caused me to hate it.
