Description
The Oppo Find X2 Neo 5G is the X2’s, second-to-last model. This means it’s a little fancier than the standard model, but it’s clearly inferior to its more refined siblings in terms of both performance and look. It does, however, have a few tricks up its sleeve, not the least of which is a reduced price point.
Oppo considers itself a leading contender, and in order to achieve the level of success it seeks, it has produced a new wave of devices. Each of them was designed with a certain consumer in mind and is being sold as such.
My first impressions of the Oppo Find X2 Neo are unusual. This isn’t to say the handset is horrible, but it does feel dated. This includes being thin and narrow enough to be used with one hand. Though we couldn’t reach every nook and cranny with our (admittedly hobbit-like) hands, the ability to type a message on the fly was a huge plus.

Really pleased with this phone. Took a chance after reading a lot of positive industry reviews and I’m really glad i did.PROS;1) Beautiful and elegant design. This a very slim and lightweight phone at 7.7mm and 171g. It feels good in the hand and is easy to operate with one hand. It really makes a lot of the iphones and samsungs out there look like unwieldy bricks.2) Lovely AMOLED screen, bright and colourful. On paper this should have been no better than my old samsung galaxy s7 edge, but it is3) Cameras. I’m still playing with the cameras but the results so far are impressive. The inclusion of an optical zoom is a nice touch and is what sold it me over the oneplus 8. The reviews I read generally praised the daylight performance of the cameras but reckoned the night mode performance didn’t match the best. However I have been pleasantly surprised when taking practice shots at night.4) The processor. Believe it or not I’m talking about the 765G processor here. Although it’s not the 865 in flag ship phones it performs brilliantly. One reviewer said in real terms it’s like comparing an i9 equipped computer with an i7. Unless you are professionally playing the most advanced games you just won’t notice. The big advantage with the 765G is it uses so much less battery life than the 865, which brings me on to my next point.5) Battery life. Although 4025 mah is not exactly a huge battery nowadays, by coupling it with the 765G processor, it lasts really well. I’m not a heavy phone user and I’m currently getting 2 full days. The charging is lightening fast – 0 – 100% in about an hour.Other highlights include stereo speakers which, whilst not loud, really do make a difference if you watch a film. Decent software which is not loaded with bloatware. Inclusion of a professionally applied screen protector and case. A two year warranty. Very quick and accurate fingerprint scanning and face recognition.CONS;These are relatively minor but worth mentioning;1) it is too easy to accidentally take screen shots.2) Ditto accidentally turning off the ring volume. Although I have sorted this with a volume lock app.3) The pricing structure. I bought this on Amazon Prime day when it was heavily reduced. However it was not the cheapest it has been here or elsewhere. It looks like the RRP has dropped now from £599 to £549 anyway, but the vast daily shifts in price below this point make it an exhausting process to know when to buy. Discounts of £50 you would expect but when the price is regularly discounted by more than £100 it just implies that the product was overpriced in the first place, and in this case I don’t think it is.

Having only used Samsung for Android and Apple as a second phone for the last decade, I was naturally fearful of purchasing a phone with a brand name I find funny and unfamiliar, only to blame my self later when the phone works in comical way. Well I have been hiding under a rock. This “OPPO” thing is amazing. Having only used premium phones (before the era where they introduced budget versions), I actually feel that this device is a clear next gen in all senses. Feel, battery power and the charging speed is new to me. The screen is money and it is a very responsive phone where the processing is amazing for my uses, which don’t require heavy processing but I can feel the difference from the Iphone. (I expected it to beat the older Samsung Android). I am now a Happy OppO

Been a few months since I acquired this phone, run it through my fairly intense routine. So far so good. The snapdragon 765G seems to keep up and the 12gb ram is honestly overkill. Checking the developer options I never seem to exceed 6-7gb in a day. But at least I know its got plenty of headroom.Oppo seems to be keeping it up to date, it now has their colorOS v11 (android 11) and it recieved the August security patch before July was over.ColorOS is a bit different from stock, which I would usually choose a phone for but honestly I have no complaints, it has nice granular app controls, efficient battery usage and the customisation options are top notch.Initially noticed a few crashes and a bit of stalling when using chrome but updates seem to have fixed that, so no need for concern.Speakers are solid as is the call quality, shame about the lack of the 3.5mm jack but I have wireless headphones so I’ve barely noticed the omission. No microsd slot either, just 256gb of ufs 3.0 storage around 242gb available. But this is well within my normal usage capacity.USB C + VOOC means the battery charges up real fast, I rarely charge overnight as a result, just an hour in the morning.I’ve not tried everything for the cameras yet but early tests (including my gimbal and my tripod) produced great results at 1080p, low light photography also works really well. The display looks amazing and gets super bright in overdriven sunlight mode so no complaints there, the corner camera punch out is unobtrusive. To cope with the curved sides and lack of bezels I installed SwiftKey to move the keyboard upwards and in a bit, giving me effectively the same experience as my old Sony xperia xa2.(typed this review from the oppo)So far so happy :)Will update my review if this changes.

This is a fantastic phone and at just under £300, a fraction of the cost compared to a flagship phone from the likes of Samsung. This phone is incredibly thin and light, yet it has a 6.5″ screen, a full metal frame and gorgeous curved glass front and back. I have only just bought the phone but as soon as I booted it up, I immediately got updated to Android 11 and the latest version of Oppo’s Color OS, which is a great OS by the way. The phone is very fast with creamy smooth scrolling and with 12gb of RAM and 256gb of storage, you have plenty of power. The sound from the speaker is very good indeed. The camera also is very good but not as good as Samsung or iPhones but still better than most. The in screen fingerprint sensor is so cool and works faultlessly, so all in all I am blown away with this phone and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Wow! This phone is amazing, for a mid- teir phone you are getting a huge amount of value for your money. This phone is Ultra fast, sleek and impressive. The 12GB of ram paired with the Snapdragon 765 makes this a beast at processing, making daily task seem effortless. You know what else is fast on this phone? The battery charging! Seriously this phone can charge from 10% to 100% in under 50 mins. That’s fast and is way quicker than the current flagships. The 6.5 inch amoled screen is absolute pleasure to look at, with a 90hz refresh rate makes everything feel silky smooth. The camera is incredible, and capable of taking incredible photos. For £600 this phone can easily compete with the current flagships out there like the S20 and new iphones. There is a pro version of this phone where the processor is a Snapdragon 865G, has 512 GB of internal harddrive, better camera , 120hz refresh rate and bigger battery, but the difference is not that noticeable, unless your a technology enthusiast or pushing the phone to the absolute limit, and at almost half the price this phone is 100% worth it. In conclusion this “mid-teir” phone is on par with the current flagships and even succeeds them in some aspects, the build and finish on this phone is immaculate I highly recommend the oppo find X2 neo. The only disadvantage is there is no guarantee waterproofing and you can’t add a external harddrive.

The Find X2 Neo met my expectations in terms of its looks, but functionally I can’t get any 5g signal (despite other devices on the same network receiving 5g at home) and the battery has deteriorated faster than I’d expect from a device of this price. I’d recommend it, but I’d be wary about the battery and 5g.

I ordered the Oppo find X2 neo (strange name?) in December after doing much research. I paid £430 and received it the following day from Amazon. It is now February so after 2 months usage…..My previous phone was a Moto g8 plus which I thought was a decent phone but the oppo far excells the Moto. The Oppo is much more ‘flagship’…great screen, stereo speakers, fast processor, 12gb ram and 256gb storage. I wasn’t sure I’d get on with color os7 but it’s actually really good, an improvement on stock android. It comes with a screen protector and case. You’ll need the case bc the glass back is very slippery and I find it very difficult to hold securely (though the glass back is beautiful to look). The only negative is the battery isn’t quite as good as I’d hoped, though about good enough, but that is partly made up by the super fast charger. Also tbf I think the track and trace app doesn’t help battery life. Imo well worth £430, though not sure it’s worth £550 or £600!

The Oppo Find X2 Neo is an excellent mid-range phone. The build exudes quality. The large display and high capacity battery are fitted into a thin lightweight case that is easy to hold. The Neo display is stunning, much better than the OnePlus Nord and very similar to the Samsung s20+. The 2 phones I have tried recently. The 765G SOC with its integrated 5G outperforms the 865 SOC in my experience. I couldn’t see a difference in speed but battery lasts considerable longer on the Neo. I used to get between 6 & 7 hours SOT on the S20+. I currently am enjoying between 10 & 11 hours SOT on the Neo. Really impressive performance from the Neo.Neo charging is in a different league to S20+. The Neo will charge from below 10% to 100% in 50 minutes. That’s fast. The S20+ would take 1hour and 30minutes, nearly double. So if you don’t need wireless charging, SD card storage expansion or guaranteed waterproof rating, go for the Neo, you won’t be disappointed!I purchased the 256GB model during the Oppo summer promotion. Amazon had reduced the price by £60 and Oppo are providing a B&O A1 Bluetooth speaker that would cost £200. That deal is no longer available but the price is likely to drop over time.

I love verything about this phone, the design is sleek, the display is very clear, the camera is the best I have ever seen on a mobile and the phone is very powerful and will have no trouble running games or demanding apps
