Not a bad protein shake however we were hoping that both protein shake users in the family could use this because of the “Gluten Free” statement on the front of the tub but the small print on the back of the tub gives a warning that this is made in a factory where gluten containing products are made. So, if you are a coeliac lured in by that Gluten Free statement on the front please be aware of this small print warning.
So – from a non-coeliac point of view this is an easy to mix powder, pretty nice tasting for a plant based powder and seems to help maintain muscle/help with recovery after tough work outs.
Does spike blood glucose (in this T1D) but hey, I can get an extra 5-8km out of my breakfast without actually eating more.
Would be a 4 star powder but I’m zapping one off for the Gluten Free but made in a factory where gluten is used malarky. I’d bet we are not the first people looking for a coeliac friendly powder drawn in by this.

I’ve been using this protein powder on & off however I didn’t find this great for losing weight to help with muscle recovery having checked everything I eat. I discovered it was this powder that was causing weight gain after stopping using it. Even when I added 1 scoop I found this didn’t help me lose weight because it’s too dense & it made my tummy feel bloated. So I’ve now gone back to healthy alternatives such as nuts, fruits & vegetables which have all the protein you need & I’m slowly losing a few pounds getting the results I want. Personally I wouldn’t buy this protein powder again, I wouldn’t say it’s bad & the taste is OK. However I’m sure there are better Vegan protein powders on the market, just not this one I’m afraid. What might work for you, might not necessarily work for other people. But I’m just pre warning people, this may potentially cause weight gain.

Needed a simple protein shake to support my gym workouts. I’m not aiming for anything crazy, just growing some ‘guns’ for the summer.
Being mildly dairy intolerant, any whey-based products are out of the question (though I have tried them before, so I have a point of reference with regards to flavour/taste.)
This product acts as a great substitute and surprisingly tastes great too. I’ve had other pea protein products which did not have the same chocolatey flavour. Really recommend this if you’re looking for a casual protein shake that doesn’t leave a bad taste in the mouth.
I’m probably not the best person to advise on whether this is suitable for specific training goals (I barely know what a BCAA is) so I’ll leave that to someone more informed.

The reviews on this page seem to be mostly for Gold Standard Whey, (many seem negative). I purchased the plant protein, chocolate flavour. Tub was properly sealed (some of the Gold Standard reviews claim the product is fake). All I know is the plant based version I ordered is the real deal. Taste is ok, even better with ice. Whereas other brands need stevia or cacao just to get it down. I’ve been looking for a protein powder I can stick with long term (some are nasty tasting, some cause stomach issues) and I think this is the one.

This just arrived, followed the instruction on the packaging to make the shake. A very gritty texture to it, no matter how much you shake and mix it and the taste is super sweet and sickly, tried diluting it some to reduce the sweetness and potentially help the texture but it just isn’t nice. I ended up pouring it away and using another protein powder.

I have recently taken to a plant based diet, aiming more toward Vegan requirements where possible and I have for the last 8 years used exclusively ON Whey Gold Standard so I was hesitant as to how the 100% plant version was going to compare.
Mixability
Overall this powder mixes really well, unlike the Whey version though this has a slightly powdery texture but that is not something that should put you off. What I did like about the Whey alternative is that is requires about 100ml less water than the plant based version, you will need to use 300ml of water minimum. You will also find that the scoop size is bigger than the Whey alternative by about 5g.
Taste
Overall the taste of the chocolate is good, it’s not too sweet but it doesn’t taste as good as the Whey versions, but then if you are opting for the 100% plant version I think most of us would expect that the taste would not be as good anyway. I do not usually pick chocolate, rather I usually like to pick something like banana or…

This is great for people if standard protein powders don’t agree with you, make you feel Sick. We’ve tried 5/6 different makes and flavours of high quality protein but they always seem to make my missus feel sick afterwards. After a little google research we came across this Plant Protein and Optimum Nutrition are known for being of the highest quality. This is our second tub and after a couple of weeks my missus has no signs of sickness at all. Great product. Will 100% buy again for the 3rd 4th and 5th time. Highly recommended 😁
