Purchased because it is lightweight. That is its only plus. The design deems it useless in all other aspects. Had to use a separate pan to cook the veg and only use the pressure cooker to cook the potatoes. The size/shape works against the weight/seal needed to produce evenly cooked food. It’s now been replaced with a steel version.

The product looks good but it’s use is sub standard, the unit is ment to build up pressure and release it and start again but this unit releases steam continually so can run dry if not being watched.
Prestige made great products but this device is sub standard, might be a defective piece but that itself shows that standard which was once held high with the company is not there at the moment.
I do hope they will up there standards as it will be a shame if they loose credibility.

I am very disappointed with this pressure cooker. Prestige is a well know name so I am surprised that this cooker is so bad.
The lid is hard to close; metal to metal grates and very stiff. The plastic lever to lock it won’t move unless you lift the weight up a little.
I doubt if the pressure produced is as advertised because I have to add extra time for stuff to cook.
WORST OF ALL is the water stain inside – after only 4 minutes on the first steaming! The black nasty ring means I can never use this for stews etc.
I have learned never to buy an aluminium pressure cooker; my previous one was steel – lasted for years.
Am considering chucking this one and pay the extra for a steel one.

I don’t like the fact that you have to be very careful about not overfilling it and that you have to wait for it to cool down before you can open it. It is lighter than my previous pressure cooker and there are no weights to fly off if it gets to too high pressure. I think it might be worth trying an electric one next time.

I bought this on the 5th of January, at the beginning worked well.
Today 24th of January almost explode in my face, the security lock failed very bad, and didn’t realized till I finished cooking, the security lock allowed me to open the cooker and for my surprise, after 40 min left it resting, I open and the lid literally pop up making a sound like an explosion and all the liquid inside came out like a volcano.
Completely disappointed and I think is extremely dangerous as If my face were near ot I would have had a terrible and irreparable accident. DON’T BUY THIS, PLEASE!!

When you buy something new, you would expect it to built correctly and with all parts, it is a PRESSURE cooker after all!! as seen in the first picture the pressure valve stem was loose, a nut is missing which should have been fitted in the factory i would of thought.

    Dear Sir/Madam,
I regret to infrom you that I have been really disappointed by the quality of the pressurecooker that I bought . I did not expect it not to be from stainless steel and what is more I would never expect the pressure valve to melt when the pot had reached high temperature!!! I consider that the product defective and extremely dangerous to use with the valve melted. I attached a photo of it!! I would expect , to replace the cooker, or at least to send me for free an new valve. i am looking forward to your reply.
    Regards,

This is a must have for any kitchen. We use it on the gas hob. Considered buying one of those electric ones, but cooking with gas saves money. We also wanted to learn the principles of pressure cooking, and it feels easier if you control the heat manually. Most electric ones also has some teflon coatings in the cook pot, and that is a hassle to worry about. Finally this thing takes less space in the kitchen than an electric one. It’s nice and light, made from aluminium, and so far has been easy to clean. The safety mechanisms on it are quite smart, there is no way this thing is going to explode (which is great if you aren’t used to these and find the idea a bit scary).
