Slave to the grind –
Coming from a ยฃ200 mobile in 2019, I found this a bargain and a great upgrade. In-screen fingerprint is a godsend to a sweater like me!
Face unlock was instant and because of the oled screen fingerprint, greasy, sweaty or dirty fingers obviate the irritating Huh Uhh shaky thing when not recognised.
Pictures are sharp and the dart charge of 30 watts was just amazing to me.
These things are mind blowing and I was super impressed with all of it untilโฆ
Three weeks after purchase the camera screen froze. A big problem obvs when face unlock is constantly used. Couldnโt reset it, change any settings and 3rd party apps had the same issue. From online research the only answer was return (for repair or refund).
So (bad) luck of the draw but Amazon weโre just as good as youโve heard about returns.
Overall, a great phone esp for the price when it works so 5 stars if it has no issues and zero stars obviously if the you lose an essential feature as described.

Bought this for ยฃ170 and it was definitely a bargain. Good hardware, sofware and the cameras are impeccable for this price. The phone is very slim and a convenient size. It comes with a 30W Dart charger which is very fast indeed, especially for this price. The case that comes in the box is also very handy but was noticeably quite hard to put on, but nothing too horrific. The fingerprint sensor is also quite good but it sometimes doesn’t pick up my finger when I am holding it in a weird position. I would recommend going for the Punk Black option as it doesn’t have the intimidating ‘Dare to Leap’ text on it. Personally, I would choose this phone over the Realme 8 5G as this handset has better specs and faster charging. I can confirm this is one of the best value phones on the market at the moment!

Fantastic phone for the money. Fast processor and 6gb ram make it very responsive. For me the best thing about it is that in Android 11 the gesture navigation now works in Nova Launcher, which it didn’t in android 10. This comment obviously applies to any android 11 device, but I thought I’d mention it for those Nova users who were unaware.

I ordered this phone as a replacement and I have to say for the money, I am very impressed by its performance.
Its light and it has alot of features and combined with the new Android 11 update, its a great handset.
I was out off by the price thinking it would be a cheap no phone but it’s great and with the fast charger enclosed with it, makes charging this phone faster.
Camera is great with lots of features, so if you are looking for a cheap phone that I think it is just as good as too brands, you won’t be disappointed with this hand set.
I also downloaded cover fire game which is a fast paced game platform to see how the phone candles the graphics and test the processor and it’s brilliant!

After a few weeks of VERY light use, it’s stuttery, unreliable, and the battery life is awful.
If I wasn’t in such dire need of a phone right now I’d return it and ask for the money back. It’s BAD. Avoid.

Despite te awful back – and I bought the “quietest” option (Punk Black) – I like this phone. Recently I’ve been using a lovely little iPhone SE (2020) but needed twin physical SIM temporarily so I looked at budget options and gave this a go. I’ve used Android as long as it has existed so no surprises on that front, but the phone itself was a real surprise – of the nice kind.
Most budget (and some non-budget) Android phones use lots of “enhancements” that force you to use the phone the way some faceless suit on the other side of the world has decided is the best way rather than letting you do your own thing. Not the Realme 8 though; it does have a non-standard UI but it’s so configurable that you can make it look like almost any other phone on the planet. It’s the first Android phone I’ve ever used (and I’ve used a lot!) that I’m happy to use the inbuilt home (launcher) app rather than resort to Nova Launcher just to get the look and feel I like (see picture).
Performance is excellent…

Got the black version as it does not have the big logo on the rear. Lightweight for a big battery capacity phone. Charges in about an hour with supplied charger. 2 days between charges. Excellent screen. Good camera, even has option for raw. Generally very nippy with 6Gb ram and plenty of onboard storage (128 Mb). Call quality very good. Fingerprint reader on the screen is actually easier and fast reacting. For a budget phone its good value.
