Cannot say anything bad about Ryobi or this planer
Works really well, even on hardwoods.
Quiet, brushless, smooth and handles nicely.
Recommend this highly

I’m rather wedded to the Ryobi One+ system of cordless tools – which is no bad thing, as they make so many great products – this planer being another example.
I needed to trim a door to size on a log cabin – far away from any mains power. This was just the ticket. Probably not as powerful as a mains powered version, but perfectly man enough for the job in hand.

I believe that where it lets itself down is that it has no endurance. I have a pretty simple job to complete and despite having three Ryobi branded batteries for use with Ryobi One tools, I have had to stop all afternoon and actually found myself standing to wait for the batteries to charge. Two of my batteries are brand new, the other is a couple of years old now, but works fine with my expended hedge trimmer. I have has about 15minutes of fully charged work from all three whilst using the planer. Not sure what the answer is but I’m considering buying a cheap as chips electric planer to try and finish this job ASAP. Really disappointed with the power, not the tool itself. On balance and on a more positive note, I love the fact that I can choose which side the dust collector is located. I love the depth gauge. I love the weight and the usability of this tool, I just cannot finish the job. I’m not even sure buying a 4th battery would allow me to get the job done. Aldi, here I come!

Far easier than a manual one, and far safer than a corded one. Lovely bit of kit. Expensive, but if youโre using it on expensive doors, you donโt want to buy cheap. Also, if you cut your hand up because a cord meant you planed at an awkward angle, youโd hit yourself for not just spending a little more on a better tool. Sometimes Aldi tools are fine, sometimes you need cushty ones.

Never owned an electric planer before. I’ve been missing out. This is great, but needs a bit of practice to get a good result. Will even plane across grain with very little tear out or splintering if the blades are sharp. Replacement blades are easy to come by and look to be easy to replace. Not too expensive either. Gone are the days of trying to sharpen a hand plane!

This is a great addition to my Ryobi one + tools, I have already used it to plane the edge of a skirting board plank and some floor board edges that wer slightly raised.
The tool has an easy to use depth adjustment, vacuum adapter and a dust exhaust that can be switched from left to right.
The tool comes with a spanner to change the blades if required and a side guard.
Al in all a great addition to the Ryobi one + family.

Great for rebating but….item was delivered without the promised extra blade

these had pretty good reviews and like the ryobi 1 range, but feel this is let down by the adjustability of it, won’t plane very deep and have to go over the smallest of areas a few times to get smooth. should have sent back but more hassle than its worth and handy for the really easy jobs
