I’ve got dozens of micro SD and standard SD cards of all capacities for various devices around the house. I generally stick with SanDisk as I’ve got a long and reliable history with them.
However, when my mum’s Samsung mobile phone ran out of storage space for photos it seemed like the obvious choice to buy a Samsung branded memory card. Well priced, recognised by the phone and worked well so happy with the purchase.

The Samsung Select brand is simply a rebranding of the Samsung Evo Plus range. Select is unique to Amazon. With this pedigree and knowing the SD market is awash with fakes it seemed worth paying a little more for the Select chip. WRONG! The SD card I received would not format and appeared to have only some 7gb of potential storage.
The replacement Samsung Evo Plus cost a few pounds less and performed perfectly.

The card itself will be fine – SanDisk don’t tend to make bad cards. The issue here is that the description very clearly says “up to 90MB/s” for the write speed. Now I’ll grant that the small print says that it is capacity dependent but the packaging for a 32GB card (once received) clearly states “Write speed up to 20MB/s”…so why not state that in the description rather than play small-print games?!
Would have spent the extra few quid for the better card had it been clear. Too late now, it’s got to be wrapped tonight.

Bought this Samsung microSDHC EVO Select card to use as extended memory in the little tablet computer I use on the road. I haven’t run any performance tests, but there is no perceptible slow down in retrieval of data stored on the SD card versus internal storage.
• Samsung MicroSDHC EVO Select is a great storage for 4K UHD videos, photos, music and other large files.
And note that having such high speed it can transfer all your files fast and easily.
Pros:
+ High speed
+ Durable design
+ Easy to use / install
+ Extended compatibility
Cons:
– Nothing i could think off

I used this microSD card in my mobile phone. It means that the phone will not be limited by memory speed or capacity. This is a top performing device that will work well in phones, tablets, PCs, video cameras and any device that benefits from high performance memory.
It comes from a very reputable brand and at a good price.

This has never happened to me before but the memory card randomly broke. Very strange. All my pictured gone. I don’t know what to say.

I wasn’t sure what to buy when after larger storage for my Hi-Res walkman. I had a Sandisk 256GB previously.
I read reviews of this Samsung and even though it mentioned 4K video which I was not using, I also read it was the card to get. I added my lossless sound files to it and was amazed that they sounded better than the Sandisk! I was not expecting that. I was mainly after more storage. The extra sound quality compared with the previous card made the extra cost of the Samsung worth it. There are cheaper cards out there but for me this was worth every penny. I highly recommend this card.

Reviewing the 128GB version of this card.
There are a number of bad reviews here, so it’s possible that some cards are fake, or perhaps people are basing the speed on a slow SD card reader. However, I have just fully tested this card using the native SD card slot on my iMac (via the included SD card adaptor). Whilst I didn’t quite get the quoted speeds, they were very impressive and close enough to confirm that the card is genuine and is exactly as advertised.
Quoted speeds for this card:
100MB/s read and 50MB/s write
My tests using f3 on OSX:
Writing
—
Average writing speed: 47.72 MB/s
Reading
—
Data OK: 119.33 GB (250259966 sectors)
Data LOST: 0.00 Byte (0 sectors)
Corrupted: 0.00 Byte (0 sectors)
Slightly changed: 0.00 Byte (0 sectors)
Overwritten: 0.00 Byte (0 sectors)
Average reading speed: 88.96 MB/s
The card is performing above U3 standards of 30MB/s.
Some other reviewers are also marking the card down due to the formatted capacity being less than advertised. This is not a fault, it is…
