I had been in need for some external memory on my Switch for a while, but just hadn’t gotten around to buying an SD card yet.
My work colleagues all gave me an amazon voucher for my recent birthday, and I thought it was the perfect time to get one. I found this adorable SD card and I must admit, although you can get one without a Mario Mushroom on it for less money – I wanted the mushroom one! It’s super adorable – the card itself is red and comes in Mario themed packaging and you just pop it in and it works like a dream. My workmates all thought it was super cute too, when I showed them and thanked them again.
It’s been approved to work with Switch, so you don’t have to worry about it being a dodgy card or that it may not have the capacity it states, which can sometimes happen when buying external memory online.
You can get one with a higher capacity that has a Super Star (Starman) on it which I just found super cute – that will be the next one I get if I need it (I have a mix of…

I bought this for £3 more than the standard Sandisk 128GB since I didn’t want to experience any compatibility issues. What’s more, it looks the part – upbeat tru to the style of Nintendo with its red colour and print of the mushroom and Switch logo. Ultimately it’s not even money spent, since if I ever choose to resell my Switch (not likely any time soon), the SD card will just be added onto the price and the Nintendo one will be more attractive to potential buyers.
To the point; the card comes packaged well cardboard backed with a Mario Kart image, logo and capacity details as well as the Sandisk logo which you’d expect. I was wondering why the card looked a little washed out in colour in the packaging, but opening it up with a pair of scissors I realised it was contained in a little plastic case which is a nice touch for storage and protection
For the very first time I snapped out my Switch kickstand with my finger after difficulties. Powered on the Switch, noted the ‘No SD card’,…

Yes, having a Mario themed memory card for the Switch seems a bit pointless when an unbranded one will probably be cheaper and may work just as well but I think this is good value.
Prices seem to fluctuate on Amazon for this card but when I bought it the price was £24.74 which is good for a top brand 128gb memory card with the specs it has.
Having the security of knowing that it is a Nintendo endorsed product is very comforting as the last thing I want is to lose games and saves to a cheap card corrution.
I’ve included a picture of where the card goes (under the kick stand) as many people seem to struggle to find it.
I recommend this card no problem.

I personally really like the SD card, I decided to get this on more of a collectors point and more of a novelty item for my switch.
it works exactly as you would expect, the print is excellent and for an SD card it looks fantastic
If you’re not too bothered about the novelty side of the card, I would recommend getting a regular micro sd card for your switch, you dont need this one any will do, as they all do exactly the same job.

I bought this for my Nintendo Switch because the Samsung micro SD card was hit n miss! More misses than hits. I have to say that for an SD card, it is somewhat expensive but it is a necessity or your game downloads will pop up with errors, which was extremely frustrating considering how long it took to download the games from the Nintendo store! I would definitely recommend this for a hassle free download and for the general operation of your Switch!!!!

I bought this as I thought it would be super fast speed for the Nintendo Switch at write & read speeds. But I’m not sure whether it’s worth it.
As the fast speeds for reading is great for loading games, but for writing it’s not really needed, as most people will just download their games overnight. I personnally would just go for one of the other sandisk micro sd cards with ~double storage at the same price, if I were to buy again.

The package was good, had a little plastic case for the memory card which is good if you wanted to take it out and move it around without damaging it. I would have liked some instructions because where you insert it is quite hidden, but I just googled it. The storage is good, it does take it down to 107GB when you insert even though it has nothing on it which isnt ideal but still plenty of space left over. I transferred a 10.3GB game over and it took 5mins which I liked because it can take hours to download some games. I wouldnt pay the full price for this, would only get it when discounted because there are cheaper options but I trust the brand.

it does what it was purposed for, but if you plan on exclusive buying your games from the e-shop then you absolutely need to get one with a bigger capacity, especially if you are playing more demanding games or games that update frequently. For reference breath of the wild takes up around 14gb, smash bros almost 16gb, pokemon sword takes up 10gb and animal crossing takes up around 6gb, thats only 4 games taking up more than a third of memory. if you only download small or indie games and buy physical copies of big games like me then this is perfect. if not, think about getting 200gb or up. it will not be value for money for those who play hefty mainline games as you may only get to store about 10 games on there.
