I have the older version of this drive which has worked flawlessly for the last year. I’ve had to send two of these back as they just refused to mount on either of my Macs, despite trying via disk utility and even attempting to reformat them. Shame, as I’m now put off trying another as I’m concerned about their reliability.

I’m using this primarily as a relatively fast back up drive for a 12TB Lacie Raid, so for my needs it’s perfect (a little over kill for a back up drive I admit, but I’m future proofing). I get 250MBs as Mac OS Extended Journaled connected to a MacBook Pro directly (identical speeds when daisy chained to the Lacie).

I decided to update my back up storage for my iMac. I bought this item as I trust the brand and it was good value with enough storage for my purposes. Installation was easy using Apple’s Time Machine and I updated which drive to use. Job done!

It’s quick 200gb takes about 30 min from my mac to this via usb c I wasn’t expecting it to be so fast
My lacie usb c tough hardrive takes at least double that
